Do You Really Want to Help People and the Common Good - Then Help Yourself First!

First off, Ayn Rand was right. Secondly, I often get tired of all those folks who can't help themselves or won't telling me to pay more in taxes to help the common good for all the poor people. You see, the greatest thing anyone can do is to participate in our free-market system and help themselves, and by doing so they are not a burden on society. If everyone did that, there would be so few poor people that our vast wealthy society could easily take care of those who truly can't.

Unfortunately, if we make people weak, create low self-esteem, and treat everyone like children eventually they won't be able to do much of anything for themselves, and therefore they won't. Now they become a huge burden on the rest of us, always demanding more - desiring to re-distribute the economic gains of those who produce and give it to those who don't. This is the real reason socialism doesn't work.

Not long ago, someone joked to me that Jesus was a socialist. And yes, there were some stories in the good book that might lead one to that conclusion. Still if Jesus was a socialist, I'd like to tell him where he can go, but I know he wasn't, not in the common definition. You see, it's okay to help your neighbor to help himself, but it isn't okay to hire the government to steal my money, to go give it to someone who wants it, yet will not plant, harvest, or bake the bread.

Before you condemn my comments, I'd like you to know that I've volunteered countless hours to help in the various communities I've been a part, far more than you have actually. That is the right way to play it, people helping people, not enlisting the government which is inefficient to pretend to help while funneling our tax money to their friend's businesses and pet projects.

Some would say that capitalism is no better, but they'd be completely naïve in doing so. There is nothing wrong with free-market capitalism, only with crony capitalism which is the type of distorted and prostituted capitalism that the socialists and corrupt practice for which I condemn in the strongest terms, just as I do this push towards socialism in our great nation under the auspice of helping people; it doesn't, it makes people pathetically weak, and thus, weakens our entire society and civilization.

In the end there will be hell to pay, economic collapse, poverty, and misery. Yes, everyone will be equal then, equally poor and hungry. No thanks socialists. I'll take freedom and liberty with responsibility over that any day of the week. Indeed, I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.

App Maker Marketing Guideline: Hire a Firm or Do It Yourself Marketing?

Your job as an app maker doesn't end after launching your mobile application. The truth is, you're just getting started. The next important thing you need to focus on is spreading the word on how cool or useful your app is. You basically have two choices: one, handle marketing on your own; or two, hire a pro.

Whichever route you take, remember that going unprepared is a bad idea--and thus should never be an option. Enough knowledge, thorough research and proper planning are fundamental to successfully promote your mobile application. Also, marketing should never be a one-person show. Amazing ideas pour in when people collaborate to achieve the intended objectives.

Determining where to start is usually tricky and is an inevitable part of the learning process. This is applicable for new app makers and majority of marketing companies. That's why if a firm dove right into the marketing part of your app sans competitor research and analysis, you should be rather suspicious about that firm.

Because no two products are the same, you need to know and really understand your target market. Check what tech bloggers are saying about your competitors' apps. Take time reading user reviews/feedbacks to learn more about your audience's specific needs, wants and even dislikes. All these information would bring you leverage on how to better market your mobile application.

Perhaps, you'd choose to perform your own marketing initiatives because of limited budget. On the other hand, if money is not an issue and your time is precious, then it's more sensible to just someone else to do it. Just make sure to do a background check on the firms you're interested in to avoid disasters. Relevant forums, LinkedIn groups and other online resources are good places to start.

To summarize, if you have innate marketing skills and enough experience, do-it-yourself style should be fine. Besides, there are many mobile app marketing techniques and tips that you can readily learn online. But if you're simply an app maker with zero knowledge about marketing and promotion, you're better off outsourcing the task.

Bizness Apps is making mobile apps affordable and simple for small businesses. We're a do-it-yourself app maker for iPhone, iPad, HTML5, and Android app platform with a full white label mobile app program.

How to Position Yourself for Success by Watching Waves

The great surfers tend to watch a wave before heading out on the water, especially when showing up at a new break. If you're familiar with the surf break, maybe you just dive right in or spend a shorter time watching. Now the question I have for you, why don't you do that in life? For example, maybe you're in an important interview. Having done a lot of interviews, I see new folks tell me about how great they are and what they accomplished. The really great interviewees tend to ask me questions to find out a little more before diving into telling me about themselves. The power of observation can help you navigate the situation of the life wave that you're about to surf or get crushed.

Here is a situation many of us fall victim to a crushing blow of a wave - your relationship. Consider the situation where your partner comes home and has had a horrible day. Now if you're in a laid-back surfer mood, you'll observe that your partner is either upset with you or just upset. Maybe they come how and start grumbling, getting sharp with you, or start seriously complaining about nothing. Here's two situations, you push back right away because your partner just ruined your good mood, or you ask questions to help the situation. What would happen if you look at the situation like a new break? Just watch for a minute, just listen. Then ask questions that notice the behavior but don't accept the behavior. For example: "Wow, seems like something happened today. What do you need to make it better?" So I acknowledged something happened, and I used my empowering questions to find out how to make it better. Of course sometimes it doesn't make it better, but many times it puts your partner on the right track and doesn't kill your surfer mood. mad at the wave, just learn how to position yourself to either ride or pass on the wave.

Probably, the toughest challenge for many people is being patient. Especially when it comes to life and changing yourself to achieve the attitude to receive what you want out of life. If you want to ride the biggest wave in the world, you just don't go out your back door, jump in the water, and start paddling. You have to train, practice, set up a crew to drag you out of the water if you fall, watch the weather patterns, and find the perfect break. You may have to wait years, seriously. But if you want to do it, you do, and you're not thinking about patience, you are anticipating the arrival of your wave. Do you know why you're excited about it, because you know that wave will come. It's nature, nature produces storms, and if you're wanting to ride a huge wave you can't change nature, but you can observe it so you can be in the right position at the right time to hit the wave. This still doesn't guarantee you get what you want, but at least you're in the best possible position to surf a massive mountain of water.

If you're willing to wait for a wave, why aren't you patience with other things you want in life? Taking time to watch, learn, and position yourself for success removes stress, worry, and allows you to enjoy the entire process. As you become patient and most importantly observant, you'll notice things many people miss completely. You may also find your own wave or niche in life that you never really noticed about yourself.

Tips for Motivating Yourself to Turn Desires Into Realities

"Good work habits help develop an internal toughness and self-confident attitude that will sustain you through every adversity and temporary discouragement." Paul J. Heyer

I know that determination is a major factor in a persons success. The drive and perseverance to make ones goal a reality is the foundation to success of any kind. Thinking about it, seeing it, nurturing it and going for it. The thing to keep in mind is to keep your mind on the things that you want, and off of the things that you do not want to experience. Some of us have a hard time keeping our minds off of the things that we dread and fear and absolutely do not want to happen. This we have to work on.

The one thing that you have utter and complete control over is your mind. Your thoughts and state of mind are yours for the commanding. Seeing the positive outcome of your dreams and the accomplishment of your goals is completely under your control and should become a daily practice. Keeping your mind dead locked and focused on the positive outcome of your success dream can be difficult in the beginning. Reality can be a burden on your dreams if you let it. You can't let it! While trying to create a new reality for yourself you must deal with your current reality, but put your passion and focus on your future reality, your success and your dreams.

You must be aware that your current reality is only the result of your thoughts dreams and preparations or lack thereof from the past. In other words wherever you are in life now, is the direct result of your previous dreams, thoughts fears conscious and subconscious beliefs and plans from the past (we will talk more about this at another time). This is the way we work, so it is imperative that you take control of your thoughts, plans and dreams on a daily basis. Something I do everyday to keep myself focused on whatever my goals are no matter what is, just do one thing. One thing everyday. I keep the practice of doing one thing toward the attainment of my goal no matter how small or where I might find myself. It might just be sending an email or writing down an idea or a concept for a future time. One thing toward the attainment of my goal everyday keeps my mind crystallized and creative and open for the new reality I am creating for myself.

Keep your mind focused on the things that you want, and off the things that you don't want. Do one thing everyday to get yourself closer to your dreams and rest at night satisfied and excited about the new reality that you are creating for yourself. You are the captain of your ship. Take charge!

Focus On Yourself For Success

How often do you catch yourself thinking back, wondering about your life? I often find myself reflecting back on my life. I'm sure just like you, I have done a lot of different things attempting to be successful.

I've had jobs in the travel industry, the motivation industry, been in sales, and supported an entire team as a business development director or coach.

I've been an entrepreneur over and over again. Import/Export, Health Products, Network Marketing, selling telecommunications products and more.

It wasn't until I discovered Internet Marketing and a community with true leadership and integrity about a year ago, that I had the single most impacting epiphany of my life. And, BOOM, did it ever hit me straight on!

The definitive most important aspect for success is to INVEST IN YOURSELF!

When I looked in the mirror, it hit me. When I regularly masterminded with truly inspirational leaders, it hit me. When I began reading self-improvement and leadership books, it hit me.

When you invest in yourself, you have a guaranteed return. It could be your communications skills that improve your relationships. Individuals with excellent communications skills are few and far between. This alone could improve your financial situation.

It could be figuring our your true passion, your WHY, that fills you with energy and starts to fuel your desire and you begin to change who you are so you can change what you get out of life.

Maybe it's working on developing your relationship with the Lord.

It might be working on a specific skill-set you've always dreamed about developing and honing to a master level.

We are each unique. We each have something to offer. Every one of us absolutely has what it takes to be successful. We just don't believe we do as we subconsciously envision ourselves in a completely different light. This impacts us and holds us back until the day we wake up with enough awareness to realize that achieving our dreams is only up to one person.

Investing in yourself may mean working on your MINDSET, developing the belief in yourself, changing how you see yourself and subsequently changing what and how you take action in each part of every day.

Discipline, commitment, structure, organization, awareness, learning specific new skill-sets are all areas of leadership. Invest in any of these and you will be closer to your dreams.

This is truly a necessary direct and succinct reflection for the first component for anyone's, for your, success. It's up to you to delve deeper, search for answers, do the work, to become your potential. Believe in yourself. See yourself where you want to be, who you want to be, what you want to be.

A great place to start is the book START WITH WHY by Simon Sinek.

The five daily actions of true leaders are:
1. Visualization of your goals
2. Take action on your income producing activities (your priorities)
3. Leadership and self-awareness development
4. Mastermind with other leaders
5. Mindset/Belief/Expectations of Leadership

Stay tuned, look for more to come...., especially if you are absolutely serious about who you want to be, where you want to be and what you want to be....

You Are the Star of Your Own Life Movie! How to Create Powerful Roles For Yourself!

You are the star of your own movie!

You are also the writer the director and the producer. Why not create wonderful roles for yourself?

Are you creating roles that are too small for you? Are you acting in someone else's movie?

In my early years I acted in roles that were assigned by and created for others. I forced myself into roles hoping the outcome would be great. I thought doing, being and acting the way others felt was "right," would help me fit in better. Not only did that not happen, I began to dislike my life! The truth is, I didn't always know what I wanted so it became easier to play the part.

Fast forward... today, using my intuition, gut instinct and an incredible connection with my Spirit guides, I follow the guidance that supports me in the most amazing role of my life.... living my life purpose! I create roles for myself that push me to grow, honor my soul's purpose and celebrate my spirit. This is the role that is the center of my joy, great friendships, love and peace.

What roles are you creating that aren't in alignment with your soul's purpose?

You will begin to recognize these roles because they won't feel right, you'll feel like you're on a treadmill going nowhere and you probably won't be having much fun either.

Here are three 10-minute tips to help you create better roles for yourself.

Meditation - I know you have heard it before, meditation has great benefits. But you must actually do it. Start off slow with just 10 minutes a day. Sit quietly and focus your attention on a happy time or event in your life. From this place, ask a question. "What should be my next business product?" or "What should I title my book?" Listen for the answer during the course of your day. Notice what shows up. You may read an email that may trigger the message or perhaps a billboard while driving down the street may have the answer. Ten minutes a day will make a big impact.
Journal - I am sure you have heard about the benefits of journaling too. It is true; journaling can help you tap into your inner guidance. Taking 10 minutes a day to write your feelings, dreams, ideas and challenges in a journal will help you receive divine guidance for your most challenging decisions.
Gratitude - Being grateful for what you have allows you to receive more of it. Take a moment each day to express gratitude for what you have, who you are and the people who inspire and love you. By spending just 10 minutes a day expressing gratitude you will notice a major shift. Your inner guidance will kick into high gear to help you receive more of what brings you joy and more of what you desire.

With just 30 minutes out of your day, you will begin to create dynamic soul fulfilling roles for yourself. Become the star of your own movie and earn the "Happy Soul Award," my equivalent of an Oscar!

How to Be Happy With Yourself and Your Life

In life there are ups and downs. Being happy is not always essential. In fact I believe it isn't essential and given a hundred percent of the time for anybody - being happy Is a thing one needs to learn in life and which is an individual learning process for everybody.

This is no excuse though, for allowing despair and unhappiness to enter your life. You, the human being in your body, are responsible for being a happy person and ultimately, besides great advice and encouragement and most of all inspiration of other people, there is nobody - really nobody - who can help you out of your own misery.

You are the only person which can make yourself happy and fulfilled. As help is allowed though, and of course learning from others who have been through this journey before you, here is advice on how to be really happy with yourself.

First of all - It is a journey and you need to accept it. You need to accept the ups and downs of life, and you need to work with them. Ups are a good sign - you did something right. Or you just accepted life for the moment and had moments of bliss accepting life for what it is.

In the bad moments, there will be hidden your lessons of life. You are the one who needs to see the lesson and the good in the dark moment though. You could literally spend decades wasting your time with self pity and self hate, if you do not take responsibility for yourself and see the good in the bad.

There are some sign posts you will need to pass in order to complete the journey of happiness. You will need to stop caring what other people think and could eventually think about you as you will need to live your own life in complete fulfillment.

Then one last thing: You will need to create your own happiness. Only you yourself will know what fulfills you most in life, what makes you the most happiest. You are the one responsible who will have to create the life that makes him happy.

This can be a difficult task but it is a glorious one. When you truly find centeredness and happiness people will look up to you and you will be a great source of guidance. A reason to be proud with yourself and life - and a reason to be happy.

Think Well of Yourself to Be Happy

I started studying religion at 8 yrs old, and have studied, self help methods, philosophy, spirituality and religions eastern and western, all of my life. I have come to realize All Paths led to the same place! You are what you think you are! Think well of yourself, be positive. As a Reiki Master I have seen and felt and used this power. I Know you can too! Your thoughts and feelings influence your brain chemistry. Let me tell you how this truth really came home to me, as we all know, knowing something and realizing are too very different things!

I was looking through my Zen Cards one day, to choose one that I would dwell on for the week. I was looking at a card showing 2 dolphins swimming from the heart over the shoulder and into the space between the eyes on the forehead. I thought, I can use this picture to meditate! I decided to try this for one week. so every night just before falling asleep, I meditated on this motion of the dolphins ( Rather like counting sheep). After about 3 days, I woke up and felt... well the way people feel when they fall in love. the happiness, everything is beautiful, and nothing is impossible. It is a wonder what our brain is capable of! When I went in to open my store that day. one of the neighboring store keepers "said what happened, I want what ever your taking"! The other thing that happens is that people are drawn to you.

All this makes you feel better about your self. Just like ripples on a pond it spreads, negative or positive.

You may feel that it might be a little selfish to focus on your self, but I assure you it is not. If your in doubt of the validly of this statement, just take a moment and think of how you feel when your loved are happy, you see!. Once your feeling good, you will automatically refocus and enjoy to a greater and much more enjoyable degree on people you care for. If you want to try this meditation, I want you to be aware that it can take a little longer for a person who has never meditated at all, when I started I bought mediation tapes to help. Now a days it would be a CD or DVD. If you choose not to try this meditation then just work on this. When you Wake up every morning, say to yourself, I feel good today, I feel happy! Most of all think well of yourself, love yourself, be your own best friend! The mind is more powerful that you can imagine.

W. R. Boru Reiki Master and business owner.

Why Don't You Speak Up For Yourself?

My counseling clients often complain to me about interactions they had with a partner, friend, parents or co-worker. When I asked the question, "Why didn't you speak up for yourself?" here are the most common answers I receive:

"I want to keep the peace."
"I don't want to rock the boat."
"I didn't know what to say."
"It won't change anything."
"He/she won't listen."
"We will just end up fighting."
"He/she will make it my fault."

Charlie is in his early 70's, and has been married to Esther for 43 years. Charlie and Esther love each other very much, but there has always been a problem in their marriage, and Charlie finally decided to get some help with it.

The issue is that Esther often speaks to Charlie with a harsh, demeaning, parental tone - telling him what to do. All these years, Charlie's way of dealing with this has been to comply - to be the 'nice' guy and try to 'keep the peace.' But every once in a while he suddenly blows up, scaring and hurting Esther. She has asked him over and over to tell her what's upsetting him so much, but when he has, she doesn't listen and turns it back onto him. In his mind, he has been in a no-win situation. The last blow-up led Charlie to seek my help.

The problem is that Charlie had never said anything to Esther in the moment about her tone. When he did say something, after the fact, Esther would have no idea what he was talking about, so she would explain, defend, and turn it back on him.

"I don't know what to say," said Charlie.

"Charlie, how do you feel inside when Esther speaks to you with a harsh, demeaning tone?"

"I feel small, diminished, like I did when my father would criticize me. I feel like a helpless little kid. I hate it. It hurts me."

"And when you suddenly blow up, what do you say?"

"I tell her to shut up."

"Are you telling her to shut up about what she is saying?"

"Yes."

"So you don't say anything about her tone of voice or how you feel?"

"No, I don't think I have ever said anything about her tone of voice."

"Charlie, if you were to say something in the moment, not about what she is saying, but about how she is saying it, what would you say?"

"I'd say, 'Your tone of voice is harsh and diminishing and it hurts me.'"

"Great! Would you be willing to say this the next time Esther is harsh with you?"

"Yes!"

The next week, Charlie reported that he and Esther had a great week together. He had quietly responded the way we had rehearsed and he was shocked at how Esther responded. Instead of getting angry, defensive, explaining or attacking, she said, "You're right. I'm sorry. Thank you for telling me."

All this time Charlie was certain that if he spoke up for himself, things would get worse. Instead, he discovered that Esther was very open to hearing his feelings and experience when it was in the moment, and was thrilled that he finally spoke up for himself.

Telling others what they are doing wrong, or trying to get them to stop doing what they are doing will generally lead to a difficult interaction. But speaking up for yourself with the intent of taking loving care of yourself will make you feel much better, even if the other person doesn't hear you. At least you are hearing yourself, and this is what is important. And you might be surprised at how the other responds!
