The Key To Living A Happy Life

Are you on the pursuit of happiness? Do you feel as though you are struggling to achieve a happy life? Well nobody can be happy all of the time and the sooner you realise this, the better it will be for you. You shouldn't beat yourself up when you have a bad day as we all get these. However, some people are actually more fulfilled than others, and are therefore more content and happy. Research has proven that being happy does not rely too much upon material processions, or high flying achievements. Instead it depends upon our outlook on life, and also the relationships and the quality of them that we have with the people around us.

If you want to improve your life and the level of happiness that you feel, then there are some simple steps to achieving this. Firstly you need to train yourself to be more optimistic. Always look for the light at the end of the tunnel, as opposed to being pessimistic and seeing things in a negative way. To lead a happy life the glass should always be half full and not half empty. People who think this tend to be happier.

You need to realise that money does not provide a happy life. Yes it can provide you with a more comfortable life, but you should essentially aim to make enough money so that you can meet your basic needs in life. These basic needs being food, shelter and clothing. Any money that you make beyond this will not always make you feel happier. There have been lottery winners that have stated that winning the lottery did not make them happier, and that in fact it brought about more problems.

Ensure that you stay in regular contact with family and friends. Socialising and spending time with those we love helps us to lead a happy life. Isolating yourself from people will only lead to unhappiness.

Be happy with your existing job. Unfortunately many people assume that a career change will have a positive impact on their happiness, when in fact it can cause stress. We have already mentioned the need to be optimistic and this is important in terms of employment. If you have a positive outlook on your work, then you will make the best of your existing job and feel a greater sense of fulfillment. Of course this is not always the case, and if your job really is making you unhappy then you need to address the situation and determine what you can do to change this.

If you are struggling to achieve a happy life and would like to read more about happiness then take a moment to visit my website http://www.happinessandyou.com/. Here you will be able to read some great tips on achieving happiness in your life.

Living Dinosaurs

You can just look at some animals and know that dinosaurs were very real (well, if fossils haven't persuaded you). Take this crocodile in Australia: at 18 feet long (ish... I don't think anyone has gotten close enough to measure him), Brutus is a monster by anyone's standards. Tourists to Australia's Northern Territory pay money for a crocodile boat tour for a chance to see one of these giants up close, and this particular group got a great experience. This photo went through a ridiculous amount of skepticism but it appeared in Time magazine's pictures of the year for 2011, and that's good enough for me. It helps that Photoshop experts also think it's real, there's video of Mr. Brutus, and you can apparently see the reflection of the monster croc in one of the boat passenger's sunglasses, not to mention anyone can go to Australia's Northern Territory, buy this same crocodile boat tour, and have a pretty decent chance of seeing their star character for themselves, but I figure Time magazine has a handle on which images are faked and which are real.

In the picture you can see Mr. Brutus is missing his right leg, which locals say is because he got into a fight with a shark (Brutus is a saltwater crocodile). Nonetheless he's still getting some serious air as he leaps for whatever meat the tour guide is dangling. This seems akin to shark diving, something I'm actually very interested in doing someday when I have the expendable cash for a flight out to South Africa, although somehow a steel cage in the water seems safer than a tin boat on top of the water...

Saltwater crocodiles are the largest species of crocodiles and the largest of all reptiles, and the largest accurately recorded croc was just over 20 feet long with unverified reports of crocs reaching 23 feet long. All I can say is I'm adding saltwater crocodile to the list of animals I don't want to meet in they're natural habitats, a list which includes hippos and Indian gaur at the top. It's nearly impossible to look at a creature such as a saltwater crocodile without being reminded that dinosaurs once roamed this whole planet. Crocodiles (and cayman, alligators, iguana and all other lizards), sharks and ostriches (to be fair, all birds are more or less remnants of dinosaurs) all remind me of the animals that once were. And when you look at it that way, these guys are the kings of the animal kingdom, a title we usually reserve for ourselves... or the roaches, if we're being funny. These living reptiles and birds survived whatever killed the dinosaurs 65 million years ago, proved they can adapt no matter what, and will most likely not be harmed by anything us mere humans can do.

This way of thinking solidifies the idea that us humans will be the only thing disappearing from our planet because of our own actions. We might take a few species with us, but mammals will still exist, new species will evolve and reptiles will continue to rule our world. We should be taking care of our planet so we can continue living on it, not necessarily because we care about other animals living on it.

Lindsay writes her animal loving blog Miniature Mastadon and, right up until her senior year of high school, was going to work with animals. After changing courses and getting a degree in writing, she ended up working in a zoo for a little more than a year. Being face to face with rhinos, giraffes, ostriches, gaur and even super close to an elephant herd (faves) dawned the realization that she can't quite ignore the need to be involved in some way. The Miniature Mastadon is an outlet to write about animal news, triumphs, discoveries, and even some sadness. All discussion, thoughts, questions and stories are most fully welcome so come chime in!

Words For Success In Practical Daily Living

The words we speak make an impact upon our world whether we realize it or not. How we speak and what we say has an impact upon us and upon others.

In the Biblical context we find that the tool of God for creating the universe in Genesis, chapter one, was His word.

We find that the tool the prophets used was their words. What they said was impacting. And it had to be a responsible word. In some instances a false prophet was stoned to death because his words were impacting upon the whole of society.

The laws of God for the Israelites was important. The Ten commandments were not Ten Suggestions! In fact, God spoke through Moses to tell the people that if they concentrated upon the law that they would have good success.

King David wrote, "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly or standeth in the way of sinners or sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord and in His law he meditates day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of waters that bringeth forth his fruit in his season and his leaf also shall not wither but whatsoever he doeth shall prosper." (Psalm 1).

Jesus, in the New Testament reiterated the importance of speaking a word. He believed that words had power.

When tempted by the devil out in the wilderness, He spoke back to the devil that man should not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

As with the prophets of old, His main tool for mighty works was His word. He spoke and water was turned to wine. He spoke and demons fled. He spoke and winds became calm. He spoke and people were healed. He spoke and winds ceased their blowing. He spoke and the dead were raised to life. His words had power over animate and inanimate objects.

Jesus not only used speaking as a tool in His own life and works, but he taught again and again, as recorded in each of the Gospels, that the disciples were to use the tool of speech coupled with faith to perform mighty works.

He said on numerous occasions that if we had faith as a grain of mustard seed and would say to a mountain or a mulberry tree to be plucked up and removed and cast into the sea that it would obey us!

These are powerful statements and speak to the importance of proper speech. Our words and speech are powerful elements. We should recognize their value and importance and use them wisely.

We can use words for failure. We can use words for mediocrity. We can use words for success even in practical daily living. Use words wisely and for your success and the success of others over which you speak.

Dr. Jerry Smith has spoken to over 5,000 audiences and published numerous books, three of which relate to success in life by means of internal word dynamics. It's Possible to Be Happy Living Alone - 4 Tips to Stay Happy

Are you distressed by the prospect of living alone even if the house is one you are comfortable in? Many people hate being alone even for short periods of time because they feel anxious without the company of the people they are accustomed to having around. This can curtail your life terribly and it can also make you quite difficult to have around since the people who you want to have around you might feel unfairly restricted.

There are a few things you could do in order to reduce your anxiety at living alone and they are:

Pick up a hobby - You will have very little time to feel depressed or anxious if you have a woodworking or sewing project to complete or even a book to read. Your brain will be kept busy this way, leaving it very little time to contemplate your solitude. Make sure that you pick a hobby that suits your temperament and skills so that you stick with it for a long time.

Get a pet - A pet can serve as a great substitute for a human being who has gone out of your life temporarily or for good. You can choose a high maintenance one such as a dog or a low maintenance one such as a fish or gerbil. In fact, the very presence of a fish tank in your house will help to relax you very much.

Stay in touch with lots of people - You can use technology to stay in touch with people without really needing to step out of your home. If your friends and family members are scattered all over the country or even the world, you could use the internet to stay in touch with them without spending too much money. Keep your interactions short and sweet so that they do not consider your calls and messages to be burdensome.

Be of help to others - You will forget about your problems if you focus on other people's troubles. Find out if you can help a charitable organization with work that can be done from home, such as administrative tasks.

You will be able to manage being alone if you can keep yourself busy following these tips. In fact, you'll find it quite possible to be reasonably happy living alone as long as you know how to help yourself. This will also gradually reduce your dependence on others.

FUN FACTS About Living an Organic and Orgasmic Life

One of my very favorite ways to explain what I mean by "Living an Organic and Orgasmic Life" is this...to understand the wisdom of living in the flow of nature and embracing all of life's experiences. Organic is nature's flow, and orgasmic is the juice that results when you embrace ALL of life's experiences.

When we resist the flow of nature then we are in pain, either emotionally, physically or both. Nature flows according to a grand plan that involves constant change. Look outside at flowers, trees, or the sky, and everyday you will see a difference if you look closely. Our bodies change everyday too, getting older and wiser as the moments tick by. Have you ever felt the pain of resisting the flow of aging? You know, looking in the mirror and saying, "Oh no, a new wrinkle," or "When did I get so old?" It is rare to hear someone embrace the inevitable process of aging. In this moment, doesn't that strike you as really crazy? What about the perks and wonderment of getting older? There is a recent study out of Stanford University that shows that peak emotional happiness comes at age 70. I love to report good news about aging as it gets such a bad rap in life.

"It's likely that only vibrations of love and gratitude appear in nature, and observations of nature shows this to be true." - Masuru Emoto

Yet another wonderful reason to move with the vibrations of nature, you create love and gratitude. When you move with the flow of nature it is also much easier to embrace your experiences along the way. A traditional Tao story illustrates that it is better to accept the wholeness of life instead of dividing experiences into good or bad. Ask yourself, "Who's to say what is good and what is bad," when you hit a bump in your life path. How many times can you look back at an experience you thought was tragic in the moment, and it turned into a blessing in disguise. Why even have this phrase in our world? Because it happens all the time, and we can actually LOOK for it and find the blessings pouring out. You only have to become aware and look.

My experience with chronic pain for 26 years is my teacher for living an organic and orgasmic life everyday. When I do not listen to my body's pain whispers (nature) and resist, well guess what happens. My bones and muscles that have been so compromised over time start yelling at me and I, at times, must come to a complete stop because I am in such pain. Now that is not a situation anyone would say "Hey I want to live like that," and it has been an amazing blessing to me. I have experienced numerous forms of powerful natural healing modalities, and I have learned through pain that inner beauty and sexuality are some kind of potent medicine for the soul.

FUN FACTS about Living an Organic and Orgasmic Life

* You don't have to leave home do it.
* You don't have to buy anything, so you never have to upgrade.
* You will begin to smile more and you just can't help it...because
* You find the funny perspective which makes you laugh...and then
* You start to feel this tingling sensation in your lower belly...and
* You shout "OMG, this lives inside of me!"

And I'm here to tell you, yes it does. Enjoy organic and orgasmic living!

Living Life In The Flow

I have been contemplating recently how sometimes in life we seem to be "in the flow" and everything just happens naturally and effortlessly. It is in these times that we are most happy and it almost takes no effort on our part as things just seem to fall in place like slipping our feet into a sock. Now here is the conundrum, how do we get into this "flow of life" more often?

It seems to me that life is most natural when we are in this flow. What do I mean by "living in the flow"? I am referring to those times in life when there seems to be no resistance, where each new block is placed before us and we intuitively know where to place it. It is in those tranquil phases of life where we don't seem to put in any particular effort, but yet everything falls into place. It is during these times that we feel the true peace and joy that life has to offer.

Yes it is true that for some of us these times can be fleeting and short lived. But I'm pretty confident that each of us has had at least glimpse of this "living in the flow" at some point in life. Admittedly some of us experience this more frequently than others, and it is here that I wish to direct my attention. Is it possible for a person, any person, to intentionally create more of these "in the flow" moments in life?

From my own experiences and intuition I would answer strongly in the affirmative. I firmly believe that it is possible for each of us to experience and get in touch with this phenomena known as the "flow of life". From what I have come to know, this "flow of life" is none other than the will of God. When we are living in the flow we are living according to God's will.

Now I am not saying that when one lives in the flow that life is easy and devoid of challenges and trials. This is certainly not the case. Even when one "lives in the flow" there will be challenges in one's life. When we face a challenging situation or trial "outside the flow" it seems unbearable and we wonder if we can make it through. It seems to us as though we are banging our heads against a wall and getting nowhere. On the flip side, when we face a similar situation while "in the flow" it is a completely different story. We accept it as an opportunity to grow and it seems like a natural part of life just like it was natural when we decided to walk as babies.

It is my belief that when we experience any pain, suffering or resistance in life it is because we are NOT "living in the flow". It has been my observation that life in its natural state flows and moves effortlessly without any pain, resistance or suffering. Just look out at nature and see for yourself. The trees stand in elegance and serenity as their leaves and branches sway in the peaceful breeze. Birds grace the sky in freedom, bees patiently search for nectar to take home and the mighty Sun gives life and vitality to all life. Yet the true power in all this is that it all happens so naturally and effortlessly.

Life in its natural state is "in the flow". There is no pain, resistance or suffering in nature. It is in nature that we can witness the true order of life. Now when any human being experiences pain or suffering in any form it is because they are doing something that is going against the natural order of things. Put another way, nature lives according to God's will and prospers accordingly, because the Divine will "is the flow" of life. It is only when you step outside the Divine will that you begin to experience any type of pain or suffering.

It is true that we each have a unique purpose during our lives here on earth. Each of us fits into the giant jigsaw puzzle and we each have our place within it, without exception. "Living in the flow" is about letting the higher aspects of life guide you into place on this giant jigsaw puzzle. We only begin getting "out of the flow" when we think we know better than the Divine. When we live according to our own will we begin experiencing pain, suffering and resistance. We try and move our own puzzle piece and place it where we feel is best.

The trouble with this is that we can only see a tiny aspect of the entire puzzle at any one time. So when we decide to move ourselves around we are doing it blindly, not knowing how we fit into the grand scheme of things. But there is One who knows the entire jigsaw puzzle at all times and who sees it in its entirety. Now let me ask you a question. Is it not easier to follow the One who knows everything than to follow your own comparatively tiny viewpoint?

The natural answer to this question is "yes, of course it is". So then how do we begin "living in the flow?" In my experience I have found that the heart is where the will of God resides within us. It is manifest in our feelings, not our emotions, and also in our intuitions. When we let go of the mind and trust the still small voice within we begin to get in touch with the will of God that leads us to "living in the flow". Feelings are of the heart, emotions are of the mind.

When a person turns their attention to the deeper aspects of themselves they begin getting in touch with the deeper aspects of life. As within, so without. By deeper I do not mean anything complex or dark in nature. By using the word deeper I simply mean those aspects of ourselves that we often overlook the 'real' parts of ourselves. Often times we are all guilty of viewing ourselves only superficially without really learning about who we really are within.

It can be challenging but it is possible. Each of us has a unique place to fulfill in the grand puzzle of life and there is only One who knows how it all fits together. We can either learn how to get in touch with the parts of us that guide us down that path, or we can choose to follow our own path based on the more familiar parts of our being. Either way it is within our power to determine which path we go down.

Therefore life is a choice. Do we choose to move our own puzzle pieces or do we choose to let the Divine move and direct our puzzle piece? One leads to being "out of the flow" and the other leads to being "in the flow." At the end of the day it is our choice. All of life is about choices. In this instance, one choice leads to pain, suffering and resistance; and the other leads to peace, joy and freedom. Now which path you choose to follow is completely up to you!

What Is The Passion Test? The 7 Principles For Living a Passionate Life

According to its creators, The Passion Test is a test you cannot fail. It has been developed by Chris Attwood and Janet Bray Attwood and is a formula for creating anything you want in your life. The primary purpose of The Passion Test is to find clarity about what is most important in your life, by forcing you to choose what means the most to you. It then becomes a simple barometer against which to measure every choice you make in your life. Taking The Passion Test, and then taking action is what creates the clarity.

The Passion Test works on a formula of three stages:

Intention

This requires you to consciously state what you choose to create in your life. Consciously stating what you choose to create in your life is the first step to manifesting it.

Attention

Whatever you give attention to is what you attract in your life.

No Tension

The first aspect of no tension is to act from that place of peace and calm that you have inside. The second is to do what you think you can do and to let go to allow things to eventuate in any way. If you're open to what is appearing at this very moment, you are not stuck on holding on to concepts of how things should be. This allows total free will for wonderful things to happen through you.

Your world is created first within you and then on the outside. What you believe is what you create. There are three things which may prevent you from doing a fulfilled passionate life; false beliefs, false ideas and false concepts.

Having found your top five passions, it is important to understand the secret to being able to live those passions. Janet Atwood says it is as simple as this - whenever you are faced with a choice, a decision or an opportunity, choose in favour of your passions. You need to be committed to living a passionate life in order for it to happen.

When you have created your list of passions, you can score them as to the degree to which you think you are living those passions right now. It is also important to create markets which will indicate how you know whether you are living your passions to your full potential.

In summary, Chris Attwood and Janet Bray Attwood suggest there are seven principles for living a passionate life. They are commitment, clarity, attention, staying open, integrity, persistence, and following your heart.
