What If We Could Save Your Brain In the Future - What Would You Put It In, A Space Ship?

It seems scientists are getting somewhat close to being able to preserve a human brain, perhaps the first brain transplant may occur within the next several decades? But perhaps this won't be common, so many complications, ethical issues, and challenges of putting one brain into a different body. But if your own body is caput and your brain is fine, well that's just a real shame to waste a perfectly good brain if we don't have too, and I am certain that individual doesn't want to check out early due to a failing body, an accident, or some other challenge.

Now then if we can save the brain, what should we put it in? Providing of course that the brain can psychologically adapt to having lost its host, let's assume it can, humans seem to be able to adapt to all sorts of things right? Should we just download the brain and put that information and consciousness in the cloud - that would be like a digital heaven in a way I guess? Or should we put it into an incasing to protect it, and to give it mobility? How about mounting it into an exoskeleton-like android robot? We could do that too.

If the brain doesn't have the body to deal with, which is the weak link for so many things, then it could be mounted in a deep see submersible, on a UAV, or perhaps enclosed in a special case in a space ship thus, able to travel the galaxy? Maybe we could mount it inside a little unit low to the ground, something similar to a Romba with a docking port, the brain simple goes back to its docking port folds up the legs or wheels, or four-VTOL-rotorblade system and parks itself at the docking station. In this case it could be sent on the space ship and thus attached to the ship when docked?

Of course it might need an escape pod system in case the space ship crashes. The old fighter bomber aircraft, the F-111 had a neat escape pod system. We could make something like that only much smaller of course, as in a three-foot long system, with folding legs or wheels once it landed on the surface of something?

A couple of years ago I was discussing all this with an overseas acquaintance, and he mentioned that the human brain would need stimulus and desire to have something like its "traditional organic sensors" so that it could interact with its environment, and this would go a long way to helping it maintain a positive psychological displacement. If it was controlling a space ship, you wouldn't want it to get any Jihadist type ideas right?

Yes, huge issue, but before we start hiring a bunch of neuropsychologists to start speculating for some super salaries, let's remember they don't know the answers to these questions, and although I completely agree with you, we just don't know yet. The Chimpanzees seem to adapt when researchers have cut into their skulls and wired them up, although they probably aren't too happy about it, still they adapt.

A human while alive may apt for a new extended life within a space ship, just so it wouldn't die, remember self-preservation is a huge need, just as Maslow. Further, the volunteer for such a mission has to accept these challenges in the name of science. People have volunteered for all sorts of things in the past, for science, so you'd be surprised. Future Nano Tech Solution - Engine Compartment Oil and Grease Leak Stopping Compounds

Not long ago, I was talking to an airframe and power plant mechanic and he had to go out on his day off and take care of an oil leak that spooked one of the pilots during his preflight. It turned out that is it was a simple problem, and it was fixed right away, but if he hadn't gone out on his day off during the weekend, the aircraft would've been grounded. It turns out the oil leak was nothing too serious, but the pilot was unsure, and for his own safety, and the safety of the very expensive $6 million aircraft he chose to not fly it.

Okay so let's talk about this for second, because maybe some of these oil leaks should be fixing themselves. Back in the old days of the radial engines, there used to be a joke that if the airplane wasn't leaking oil, that was a really bad sign, and you shouldn't fly it. In other words, they weren't supposed to leak oil, but in the modern age, we want everything to work perfect all the time, and if oil is leaking, that is almost as if the human body is bleeding, and there is a problem somewhere, a problem which needs to be looked at. We can all understand that right?

Still, what if we had a future nano tech solution for this problem? Perhaps we could put nanoparticles at all the fittings, and along the hoses, it might be a coating of some type. When there was an oil leak all the nanoparticles would get together and swarm the leak to stop the bleeding so to speak? Right now, we have bioengineered blood which coagulates very quickly and seals up wounds for soldiers. This of course is applied by a human, perhaps a medic, self-medicating, or by one of the soldier's buddies on the battlefield. Perhaps in the future all of this could be done simultaneously from inside the uniform, but I digress.

It's not that the digression wasn't needed, or shouldn't have been stated however, because if we took that same theory of that obvious future innovation and applied it inside the cowling of an aircraft we could essentially do the same thing; self-healing oil leak fixing. Perhaps we should be thinking about this for pipelines, water lines, engines, and a host of other things. It makes sense, and future smart materials should be able to do this.

After all we have self-cleaning windows, and titanium dioxide which automatically cleans stainless steel kitchen equipment. It's not such a far-fetched idea. Therefore, I ask that you please consider all this and think on.

The Future of the World Depends on Failure of the EU - Human Freedom and Liberty Needs It to Fail

Yes, I'll admit that title is a little hard-hitting and in your face, but what better way to get the point across. Now then, you are going to want my explanation for such a harsh reality type statement like that, and I believe you are justified in your inquiry, so, let's get right into the meat of this debate, and then you can contemplate on this argument, whether you agree or disagree is immaterial, my objective is purely to get you to think about it all.

Now then, if you will recall Greece is world of financial hurt, mostly due to their over expenditures on socialist type government give-aways, and rather than going to austerity measures to re-align themselves with the rest of Europe, they elected a more left-leaning socialist leader. What did France do? Well, they are not without their own challenges although far better off than the PIIGS - Portugal, Italy, Spain, Greece, and Ireland. But what did France do, well, they too voted in a more left leaning President recently.

All these left-leaning socialist methods are what has caused all these problems, and rather than fixing them, they decide to add more fuel to that fire and dig a bigger hole, rather than digging their way out of the one they'd created. If the ECB becomes an entity with the same power as the Federal Reserve and attempts to borrow its way out of things without changing this socialist mindset, it only will blow the balloon up bigger for one less hoorah before the big pop and implosion in the years ahead.

Worse, in the meantime it gives other nations a model to follow, and they too will reach the same potential eventuality and drive off a similar future cliff. And, let's not forget our own nation's problems, isn't our current leadership also following socialist theory and borrowing so many bad economic habits from Europe already? If the governments of the world become the parents and nannies of their citizenry, then what happens when the parents can no longer provide.

Perhaps you will recall when you were young and your parents took care of you? You didn't have that much freedom, and you always wanted more, but those were the rules right? Well, if the government is your new parents and you live as a socialist subject then you will not have any freedom or liberty, and then may I ask what you intend on doing when your parents lose their home, and leave you all alone? Freedom and Liberty come with responsibility my friends.

Of course, I am utterly amazed that the US voters would elect a regime that promised them such a socialist dream, something that goes against everything this great nation stands for. It's time to understand that socialism does not work, and maybe it is time for the European Union's experiment to fail before other nations follow it into the same abyss. Mexico is about to elect a left-leaning socialist, and many nations in South America already have. History shows this to be unwise, and it will surely cause those economies an early demise.

We as Americans know better, or at least most of us used too, today, it appears that the majority may not know better - nevertheless, maybe it's time that everyone see the light. It might be much better off for the future of mankind, for freedom and liberty worldwide, if the EU simply fall apart and those nations which are less socialistic are allowed to succeed on their own accord and those which aren't are allowed to pay for their foolhardy mistakes, then we might see a rebirth of freedom and liberty, yes, with responsibility, as that is the nature of things on this planet, it's always been that way, no matter what a politician might say.

Technology of the Future

This might not be the first time that some of you have heard about it, but a long time popular science has been revived with the recent news about ETT, or the Evacuated Tube Technology. ET3, a licensing organization, holds the patent of this proposed technology of the future.

Technology of the future: Magnetic Levitation Capsules

How it works? Well, simply imagine a bright sunny day in New York and suddenly you want to bring your wife on a dinner date, in Beijing! The usual flight time for any commercial flight is 14 hours, and lesser if you're boarding a super high tech jet from the Air Force that can travel supersonic.

But with the ETT, you can travel from New York to Beijing in just two hours. Imagine having that dinner date in Beijing and after you're done it's still a bright and sunny day in downtown New York. And the ET3 believes that the day of high speed suction tubes is not far off.

A proposed prototype of the Evacuated Tube Technology is a six person capsule that would travel through air-less vacuum tubes that can reach to a maximum speed of 4,000 miles per hour. These capsules would run on frictionless magnetic levitation tracks. The Mag Lev technology is not a secret to everyone as is it currently used on some railways in Europe and in the United States. China has also had the same technology with their Shanghai Trans rapid.

If the same logic applies, the tracks and the capsules will have magnets with the same poles. And since only opposite poles attract, the capsule and the tracks would repel each other, making a sort of illusion that the capsule is levitating. While it is convenient and sounds a bit absurd, it sets as a form of bench mark in long distance transportations. It could be considered as a cornerstone for future transportation to come.

This technology can be very ideal, especially to those with busy schedules and to those who want to maximize their routine by shortening the travel time. Instead of the traditional 16-20 hour travel flights, capsules form a sense of urgency to get the destination. Businessman and tourists can greatly benefit this technology. But the question is, will it be available to all countries, or to a selected few (you know what I mean). And if everyone will have access to it, will it be affordable?

In the Future Thought Questions to Lecturing Professors Will Help Easily Intimidated Students

As the coordinator for a think tank which happens to operate online, we talk about all the serious issues in our civilization and society. One of the most pressing issues of our time of course is education, because a nation is only as good as its education system was 20 years the prior. This is because kids grow up, and soon they will be running things. If they aren't educated very well, or can handle the task, they could lose the whole thing. A nation which has been going on for hundreds of years could fall in a single generation due to poor decisions being made.

Okay so, let's talk a little bit about the future of education, along with some of the other technology which will converge. If this sounds a lot like the folks from the Singularity Institute, then in the way you are right. You see, in the future rather than social networks there will be thought swapping, and you will have an inbox, and a brain chip, and you will be able to send thoughts rather than e-mails or tweets to your friends and those in your social or business network.

If you are going to school, you might have downloaded all the information on a given topic into a chip, as part of your education process for college. Your degree with all the information is already in your head, but you will still be required to listen to lectures, ask questions, and deal with real case studies so you know what you are doing. That makes sense right? Now then, as you are watching these lectures chances are you will be able to ask a question of the lecture or professor giving the talk, but most likely you won't need to raise your hand to ask the question.

There was an interesting article recently in the New York Times on March 31, 2012 titled; "Speak Up? Raise Your Hand? That May No Longer Be Necessary," by Jan Hoffman. When I read that article about the use of clickers - the article stated;

"In recent years, college students have been bringing clickers to lecture halls, for instant polls and multiple-choice tests. Corporate executives sometimes distribute the devices at meetings, and then show survey responses immediately on Power Point slides. Just two of many companies that make clickers have sold nearly nine million units in under a decade. One the companies, Turning Technologies, sold 1.5 million in 2011 alone."

Now then, that story gave me this idea. If you were a student who doesn't like to ask questions in public, or perhaps, you have a low self-esteem, or you are in a big lecture hall, you might be a little intimidated to ask your question. However, if you don't ask the question you won't learn the information, and there are probably others also in the room or listening to lecture who have that same question. So, if someone doesn't ask the question, then no one will get the answer, and many people will be stuck simply not knowing. That would be wrong, and that's not good for the educational process.

Therefore, there will probably be a box that you could send your thought to from your brain chip which would be permanently connected to the Internet. First, your brain chip would see if the information was already there, or if the box would see if that specific question had ever been answered before. If not, then when the professor was at a breaking point, and yes, they would have to have more breaking points, more often, and at least as often as a couple of bullet points on a PowerPoint presentation, then they could simply see if anyone had asked the question, and collect that question from the box, and then answer your question.

This would work quite well, it is a great way to communicate and move the class teaching process forward faster. Please consider all this and think on.

Winning The Future and a Futuristic Look at Innovation in America

Come one, come all - it's time to innovate - everyone big and small. Indeed, I do not disagree but I realize that order is tall. It is time to win the future, stay ahead of the competition, and reassert the United States of America as the greatest innovative force known to mankind. Look what we've built, what we've accomplished, and there is nothing we can't do; as Americans we inherently know this. But isn't it time that we walk the talk? Well then, let's discuss this for a second.

There was an interesting article in Time Magazine (US Version) titled; The Future of Innovation: Can America Keep Pace?" by Fareed Zakaria on June 5, 2011, which stated;

"The first step to winning the future is encouraging American innovation." That was Barack Obama in his State of the Union address last January, when he hit the theme repeatedly, using the word innovation or innovate 11 times. And on this issue, at least, Republicans seem in sync with Obama. Listen to Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich or Mitch Daniels and the word innovation pops up again and again. Everyone wants innovation and agrees that it is the key to America's future."

Now then, personally I really like listening and reading what Fareed has to say, he's a wise gentleman, and yet, I have some comments of my own. First, I ask if all these so-called "Politicians" really want to lead the charge in innovation, then why aren't they busy removing regulatory barriers and reducing the bureaucracy so that small business entrepreneurs can innovate, invent, and bring these new ideas, concepts, innovations, and inventions to fruition?

It seems, we have far too many politicians taking our tax dollars and throwing them into pet projects, political friends, and throwing the money around like it is water. All the while they set up more regulations, more bureaucracy, and more barriers to entry for the entrepreneurs and innovators who are making it happen on the ground floor. Perhaps it's time for all the politicians to shut up, for the government to get out of the way, and to allow the entrepreneurs and the free-market system to do its magic.

If the government wants to foster innovation, then we as the American people should agree to fund pure research. Once that research reaches a pinnacle, or it is discovered by entrepreneurs as a viable, or having market potential, then that information, new knowledge, and innovative insights will be taken to the next level without subsidies or government funding. Seriously, that's how the free market works, but unfortunately the academics and politicians don't know this, because a good many of them have never participated in free market capitalism. Please consider all this; it's time for America to innovate!

Metro Apps and The Future Of Mobile

The PC giant Microsoft is making waves in the mobile application development arena with its up and coming operating system called Windows 8. This new version of their operating system has been developed with mobile devices in mind and is Microsoft's move to stay relevant it the changing tide of personal computing. Although desktop computers still accounts for the majority of use in homes and businesses worldwide, consumers are increasingly adopting smartphones and mobile tablets as their choice of computing tool. Microsoft has fallen behind in the mobile arena and Windows 8 is their response to market demands.

In the past, the Windows operating system has been notorious for being processor intensive along with requiring a large amount of disk space to store application files. Metro apps respond to touch on devices that support it while remaining compatible with more traditional input devices such as a mouse.

Metro apps will run in full screen mode, effectively hiding the operating system to remove clutter on the screen. This more engaging approach to personal computing draws the user into the experience so they can focus on what they are doing. On the startup screen, Metro apps are presented in tiles that feature status and activity updates intended to engage the user with the data they care about the most. This approach is a break away from the icon based home screens that are prevalent on Apple and Android devices and intended to provide a more engaging user experience.

Cloud based computing will also play a role in the future of Metro apps. Users will easily be able to share content on their social networks as well as other devices they are connected to. Running Windows 8 on both a persons desktop computer and mobile device means greater integration of shared data without having to deal with cross platform issues, effectively bridge the gap between mobile and PC.

Metro apps will be sold exclusively in the up and coming Windows Store, a marketplace similar to the popular Apple Store where users can purchase apps to suit their needs. Future Concept - Futuristic Aircraft Landing Gear Reverse Thruster Spinners

Is it possible to harness some of the kinetic energy and friction which is involved with landing a large airliner, and reusing that energy to stop the aircraft quicker? I believe it is, and I believe there are new materials being made now that can easily make that possible. If you have a few moments, I'd like to explain.

You see, when a large airliner lands those giant tires go from 0 to 125 miles per hour in one second, some tires spin as the aircraft flies while on approach already. Nevertheless when the aircraft touches down it puts a lot of wear and tear on the tires, and the aircraft braking system is under tremendous amount of pressure.

If we can reduce the weight of the tires by speeding up the tire prior to landing, and the tires wouldn't need to be so heavy, or heavy duty, have to be made so strong with so much steel belts inside. These tires are extremely expensive, and quite costly to keep replacing all the time. What if there was a propeller system underneath the aircraft which would cause the tires to spin using the relative wind or ram air flow from the forward motion of the aircraft? That makes sense right?

Sure it does, and now I'd like to discuss with you the regenerative component to this propeller, which will be mounted on the landing gear frame. You see, after the tire touches the ground, the shock absorber will push the tire upward, and that can switch the propeller the other direction, as the tire spins around once it has the weight of the plane on the runway. In other words the propeller would then act as a reverse thruster, which will slow the aircraft down quicker, meaning the aircraft doesn't need such giant brakes.

Remember brakes weigh a lot, and on an airliner they are rather large and a very important component to the aircraft. They also require hydraulic fluid, hydraulic pumps, and all sorts of other things. By making those components smaller, as the aircraft will now be slowed down with reverse propeller thrust, that means we can shave even more weight off this aircraft. Now then, these small modifications may not seem like much, but if the propeller blade is the proper type, and creates a fan like condition, it could provide quite a bit of reverse thrust. Plus the propeller will be made very light materials, which are very strong - perhaps a carbon nanotube composite material.

A Couple of New Future Concepts, Ideas, and Inventions for Your Intellectual Mind

As you know, each day I come up with at least 2-original thoughts, and rather than making lots of little articles describing this week's new innovative concepts, I thought I'd share with you 6 or 7 of the ideas, all packed into one article. Why? To help get your intellectual mind thinking, and put you into the creative flow, now then, let's begin with:

Regenerative Compression for Air-Compressed Driven Cars - Concept Idea Considered

We are all aware of regenerative braking systems which use the automobiles deceleration to create a friction style energy generation to keep a hybrid or all-electric car's batteries charged. Well, what if we used such a regenerative scheme to turn a compressor motor instead. How so you ask? Well, when braking, the wheels turn the compressor wheel to re-compress the air tanks, which could later used for power, and/or to charge the battery or run a generator for electrical equipment on the automobile.

There have been some successful attempts at an air-compressed motor to drive a car, bicycle, and motorcycle. Although these previous attempts have been less than stellar for range, such technology does make sense for some applications. Well, what if we used this concept to increase the range by giving back the wasted loss in kinetic energy during deceleration just as we do with current hybrid and electric cars? Compressed air does hold promise given the right motor and transmission set up. Okay so think on that.

For Number Two; I'd like to talk about the Apple iPad, Amazon Fire, and other popular tablet personal computing devices. What we clearly need is "iPad Holder Attire is Needed for All Occasions," in fact, there was an interesting article in Fast Company Magazine in September of 2001 titled; "For Every iPod, There is A Hammer Pair of Pants" which talked about the normal evolution of products to fit the changes in our society. It depicted a pair of pants in one of the scenes pitted against another pair of ugly yester-year denim pair of shorts; the newer version with an extra large pocket, which coincided with the perfect size for an iPad.

More and more folks are taking their tablets with them everywhere they go, just as they now are fully mobile with their smartphones. With so many folks on the go, and computing in a mobile fashion, isn't it about time that folks started making a fashion statement about their trendy use of personal technology also? Perhaps use graphene coatings, or electromagnetic induction techniques, or even solar to power up and keep the tablet charged as a docking station?

Okay so, how about another concept or invention for you today; let's call this Number Three. What about an "Electronic Sensor to Outsmart the Brain Fart?" How so you ask? Well, it is widely known by those who study such things that if someone is doing a specific task for any given amount of time, eventually, they will make a slight mistake, and interestingly enough scientists using fMRI, EEG, and NanoSquid brain scanning technologies they can actually predict when.

All we need to do is to miniaturize these components and connect them to equipment, computers, cars, smartphones, military fighter planes, etc, and have such a device send out a pulse of a hyper alert brain wave just prior to the mistake occurring.

Number Four: Next up, I'd like to enlighten my reader that ultra-sound created by large wind-turbines tend to thicken the air around them, which is a good thing for the next wind turbine in that now modified relative wind. However by thickening the air, it also allows molecules in the air to align and combine at a faster rate.

Therefore pollution air particles are more likely to form also, thus we need a set of wind turbine blades which produces little or no ultrasound. In fact, we should be shooting for near zero, because making noise of any type is wasted energy. There are some designs which produce less ultra-sound but that typically isn't the case with the extra-large wind turbines now in use, or those in very large wind farms currently.

Speaking of which let me bring up another point of contention and ask a question, one you may not know the answer too, nor probably ever considered; "Do Cell Towers Cause a Thickened Atmosphere Near the Surface?" The answer would be yes, but how much is hard to say. If we want to reduce frequency pollution and the inadvertent combining of air pollution molecules, we should be thinking here.

No, I am not done with this week's original thoughts, so here is Number Five. I'd like you to consider another interesting concept; "Laser Scaffolding Scheme to Collect Earthquake Wave Energy Worked - Now What?"

You see, he'd read a piece in Christian Science Monitor on April 18, 2011 titled; "Building - Absorbing a Quakes Effect," by Staff Writer Chris Gaylord which discussed a new building technique to allow elasticity with a "fused approach to mitigate, or concentrate, damage..." when a light bulb went off in his head.

You see, he reasoned that the elastic steel cables could be substituted with free-electron particle laser beams crisscrossing an area surrounding an Earthquake fault, but first he had to put those calculations together, with some other scientific data he'd read about measuring minor tremors due to fracking techniques now used in the oil and gas industry.

Now then, one of the diagrams in the Christian Science Manager showed how the structural pieces were designed to break in a way that protects the building from falling and re-fuses it together, holding it up-right. Okay so taking this idea, what if we built an artificial high-powered frequency grid using some long stakes driven into the ground and created a grid-gate to bounce the S and P waves away preventing the major shaking? Can it really be done, how much power is needed, do we have the technology? Hard to say, but nothing is impossible when it comes to American Technology.

Number Six: here is another nifty idea and concept for my last innovative invention; "The Futuristic Holographic Retail Displays Are Cool," and they are cool because they will interact with your smart phone, which will have a 3D rendering of your body, and it will be able to interface with the retail clothing store's computer to display you in a hologram before your eyes, wearing the outfit you'd like to try on.

In other words, no more dressing rooms, no more store shrinkage from theft, and the clothes you buy will have never been worn, not even to try on in the dressing room. Imagine that, no better yet, go invent that and then make millions, because people will buy it, and all you need is the App, and an IBM spectral imaging projector to sell that concept to the retailers - done deal. Indeed, I hope you will please consider all these new thoughts of the week.

Meet Your Future - The Art of Success

There is a really great way of foretelling exactly how your future will turn out. It does not require that you visit a clairvoyant, sit under a pyramid and chant or even that you gaze into a crystal ball. All that is needed is a good set of plans detailing how you want your future to turn out and the commitment and discipline to take action every day to carry out your plan.

You can never successfully build anything unless you have a plan. Would you attempt to build a house without first drawing a plan? You know that you could attempt to build the house without a plan, but how do you think it will turn out? The house would be flawed and unstable. If you would not attempt to build a house without a plan, then why do we travel through the journey of life, without a plan? If the house we would build without a plan would be unsatisfactory, why do we think our lives would be any different?

If you just started laying bricks to build a house and somebody asked you what you were building. You would answer that you have no idea. Are you laying bricks in the wall of your life every day, with no idea why you are doing what you are doing? If someone asked you why you are laying the bricks into the wall that is creating your future, one brick at a time, would you be able to tell them? Or are you just waking up every day and throwing bricks into your wall of progress and expecting things to turn into the success you desire.

This talk is designed to help you to explore your unique circumstances and to discover everything that you need to become and do, to create and apply the perfect plan, which will allow you to begin and sustain your journey to the success you desire. The process is simple; you are guided to create a plan that sees you finish your year before it even starts. You need a plan that completes your month before it even starts and a plan that completes each day before each one even starts. All that is required to see meaningful, positive changes begin to appear, almost effortlessly, in your life, is that you need to make the decision right now that you are going to make a small shift in the way you plan and schedule your life going forward. When you choose to include this very simple plan for creating a new success habit set in your daily schedule and you commit to apply your willpower to carry out the plan, until it is part of your daily routine. You are equipping yourself with a tool that will help you to create long term almost effortless success.

Trusting in a Plan for the Future

The sin of envy is as damaging an emotion as it's commonly felt. We are all given to comparison. Yet, we forget that life is an ebb and flow business. Some appear to get ahead, others appear to fall behind it, but the distance of years is longer than any of us imagine. It's amazing how life evens the results.

TWO HABITS FOR HOPE

Two things we can do will help provide great hope for our future: firstly, forget about the competition - life is not a competition; secondly, we should keep trying and not give up easily.

Both of these two things are difficult to do; they are easy to forget. But we are rewarded with hope when we remember and apply them.

ACCEPTING OUR POTENTIAL

Many of us are born with dreams that are unrealisable. We may wonder why God has sown such a hope in our hearts. Perhaps it's because of the process of maturation; nobody gets everything they want. Accepting our potential is a key to becoming mature.

I once wanted to be a great sportsperson. It's what I lived for in my dreams. Yet, it's clear looking back now that I was never going to achieve that. Not achieving our greatest of dreams empowers those dreams that we do fulfill. Victory is sweet eventually. We all have some things to be proud of.

OBSERVING THE VARYING SEASONS OF LIFE

Achievement is never a continuous concept for anyone. Every single person has seasons of preparation or abeyance to endure or ahead of them.

We are blessed to become casual and causal observers of life. By casual, we take it as an informal interest; enjoying the observations and making sense of them in truth. By causal, we seek to understand why events and situations and outcomes happen. We look for the cause, again in truth - for our emotions of envy will only get in the way.

Wisdom is the art of practising interest in life, but by being distant enough, emotionally, that we are not engaged to the point of uncontrolled or straying emotion.

Observation is fun if we'll engage in it without thought of prize.

REMEMBERING THE DURATION OF YEARS

Most of us live longer than we anticipate the length of our life. In other words, as we look back we do and achieve so much more than we can even remember.

It bears careful consideration: life is more than just today or tomorrow or next week or next year. God does have a plan for us; a plan to prosper our future (Jeremiah 29:11).

A worthy saying:

Life's not in the envy that mounts, but instead where it's heading; that's where it counts.

Our best wisdom is trusting in where our lives are heading.

The Future of Garden Robots

In Arthur C. Clarkes "3001" the humans had brought back a dinosaur using its DNA sequence, and the dinosaur was used to do the tree-trimming in the space colony, the reason being that it had excellent dexterity and was well suited to do this. The dinosaur had been made docile, and was very happy to be trimming the trees in the tradition of Japanese bonsai plant perfection. Well, Arthur C. Clarke sure had some great concepts in his science fiction works. Indeed, he explained the process in detail and it appeared to be feasible for the future, remember the story was cast into the future just under 1,000 years from now.

Happy dinosaurs as garden attendants, a unique concept no doubt, and well, obviously humans are not at the point yet, but it is conceivable if you give human scientists some 50-75 years in the future, they could probably make it so, and perhaps even in 100-years we might have space colonies, and resurrect past species, giving them another chance at the evolutionary cycle. All well and good, but you know what, I need someone to trim my hedges right now, and so, I have a better idea, and if you have a few moments I'd like to discuss this if I might.

First, our robotics technology is getting rather incredible. We have visual recognition systems, which using artificial intelligence can easily determine the difference between a leaf and a branch, or a sickly branch with a strong healthy one. Our robotic systems are also getting very good at mobility and six or more degrees of movement. It is completely possible they could prune, trim, and cut shrubbery and be just as accurate with every precision cut as the Arthur C. Clarkes' resurrected dinosaurs in his novel, later turned movie.

Next, a robot of this type could park itself in the corner, soak up some Sun, and harvest solar energy until it had the energy needed to do its assigned tasks. We can easily have Carnegie Mellon's Robotic Engineers construct such a device, and it would work fine. You see, it's been over a decade since an MIT graduate came out with a robotic lawn mower, so it's time to take all this current robotic technology used in other sectors such as prosthesis, health care, military equipment, unmanned vehicles, and those Asimov Japanese type robots used mostly for entertainment and tie it all together and get this done.

There is a gentleman, Geoffrey L. Barrows, who has developed an operating system utilizing optical flow sensors, which could easily be deployed for this robotic gardener technology. That along with sonar and sound sensors and infrared sensors the garden robotic could work flawlessly; perhaps even maintain the most beautiful gardens of the most magnificent estates in the world.

Now then, what shape should the robot be? Well, it could be any shape you wish, it could resemble a human gardener, or organic-like carbon-based biped, or it could look like Asimov, or even a computerized looking android. Then again, perhaps it might look like an octopus with multiple arms for trimming and pruning, yes, if so it might need more sensors, and a more robust operating system. Still, it's all possible, even with current technology - totally off-the-shelf software, hardware, and sensors.

Perhaps when not in use it might take the shape of a Greek or Roman statue. Maybe the top of the head might become a bird bath. The body of the statue could be opaque colored solar cells, and the skin could be a coating that harvested energy from the sun. Maybe it should be camouflage, just as the cell towers now look like giant trees. Maybe the robot could look like a small tree in the yard, and its branches would be the arms of the robot? The sky is the limit on this, and it just takes imagination.

Consider if you will the cost to hire a groundskeeper, or a landscaping company to come in the each week and service the garden? This would save costs, and it would also put robotic engineers to work, helping us design the future, while producing robotic equipment that is not only useful, but highly efficient. It seems these days we have too many kids in college studying robotics, and they all keep making the same types of robots. It's great to see that they are learning how to do this, but it's time that we put some of these brilliant minds working on feasible applications for the real world.

A robotic gardener might charge up all day, and then only work an hour or two in the yard. Perhaps an entire cul-de-sac in a suburban neighborhood could use the same robot, it could charge up, and do a different front yard every single day. Maybe the large municipalities might put in robots to do the landscaping in the center median, it would be safer than having workers out there that might get hit by cars, and it would also save money on the city's budget, best of all the robot would never retire or require a pension.

The top of a bus stop could be a collection point for solar power and a docking station for the robot, which would come out at night, and do the trimming. Remember the robot could work at night without being able to see because its sensors are different than human eyes, and it would be using sonar, infrared, and optical flow sensors to do its work. Interestingly enough, as I was doing research for this article I did find that there were several robots, and new innovations for gardening of this type.

Unfortunately, none of them are as viable, or the right solutions to allow the robotic system to perform in the way that I have detailed in this article. That doesn't mean it's not possible, it surely is possible, and we are currently designing robots to do all sorts of other things, many complicated tasks, and when you think about it, this task is complex, but it is also very simple. If something goes wrong with the robot, the worse that can happen is that it cuts the wrong branch on a bush or hedge. Indeed, I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.

Finding The New Generation Of Fuel For The Future!

The future can be as bright as we want to make it. Their are several possibilities of alternative power sources for America and the rest of the world. In this article I'm going to mention just a few of them, and define some of their uses and benefits. I will be discussing the different types of renewable energy that we have, and a brief description of each one. These will include wind power, solar power,and hydroelectric.

Wind power is the conversion of wind into a useful power source. These can range from a single wind turbine for a single house, or a wind farm which can consist of hundreds or thousands of turbines to produce electricity. With the technology of today, we can utilize switching stations, to use power lines in use now, to provide electricity or power companies will buy the power produced. Wind is a very clean source of power, compared to the fossil fuels we burn now, and maybe in the near future we can use the wind for our main power supply, with fossil fuel backup power. Wind energy continues to grow every year and in the future, we can only hope it helps solve some of our energy problems.

Solar power is the conversion of sunlight into electricity. The upfront cost of solar power is one of the drawbacks, but over time and with more research, in time we can make this a affordable option. Solar uses mirrors to attract the sun and this produces heat, which in return produces electricity. With the combination of wind power and solar power, between the two we can produce and store power year around. At this time solar power plants take up lots of land, but as we learn more, the learning curve keeps changing to make this a more useful energy. The future looks very bright as we develop more uses for this renewable energy.

Hydroelectric is the conversion of the gravitational force of flowing or falling water into electricity. We have used hydroelectric power for several years now, and it is a very effective way to produce electricity. This is produced by damming up a water way and then released to produce the pressure needed to turn generator turbines to produce the electricity. Hoover Dam is the most familiar hydroelectric dam in the U.S. Hydroelectric production is #1 as far as its effect of greenhouse gases, reason being their are no fossil fuels used at all to produce this form of energy.

This is a brief description of a few of our renewable energies. The U.S. has all the knowledge and manpower to progress these renewable energies into useful everyday sources of electricity. Hopefully as we learn more about these forms of energy, we can develop them into efficient and low cost forms of energy to the world. Simply put fossil fuels continue to soar in price with no end in sight, and our only resource is to produce the natural ones we've always had on earth. Save fossil fuels for the back up supply!

7 Ways to Live Happy and Love Your Life Right Now: Have Fun and Don't Live In The Past Or Future

At this moment, do you consider you're very happy? You might not be one of the handful of people who think they are very happy, or maybe you want to improve your happiness, so here are 7 quick tips to improve your life and do what you love:

1. Realize the only time you have is now

When we think about it, can we change the past, be it past events, feelings or else? No, we can't grab it really and turn it around directly.

Now, can we seize the future? No, it's still in the form of possibilities that might happen.

So all we have is "just" this ongoing "Now"! Get rid of this linear way of thinking and realize it's now that all is going on. To comprehend it is liberating already. We can't continue to live in the past, so the only reasonable option is getting rid of its weight, forget it or repair it in the now. Nor can we live for a future that isn't here neither, for a future big joy we might have. We can prepare for it, that's it, and that's why we should daydream if we like it in the now, but we have to remember to be happy this very moment.

2. Forgive yourself and others

You might feel unhappy because of things you did in the past. We have got to allow forgiveness wipe all that and start anew, both for ourselves and others. If it helps you to feel better and you judge you have to do so, try now to undo the wrongs you did, by admitting how sorry you are, asking for forgiveness and help them. Accept apologies too for the wrong others did to you.

3. Let go of past hurts

As human beings, we can encounter grief, violence, sickness and other hurting events. You can't let that follow you around mostly because it's like an extra depressing weight to carry!

I got my "fair" share too, and I had to realize that it was bringing me down and that I had the right to be happy again. I got rid of most of it and, even if for some I still have to remind myself of not minding anymore, I improved my happiness a great deal more! You can do it too...

4. Be grateful

Realize how blessed you are every day and whenever something great happens to you. It helps seeing how happy you really are.

5. Have fun now

Ask yourself whenever you want to have more fun: "What would I love to do now and would make me happier?" Also, do what excites you, your passion(s), everyday. Imagine what you would love your life to be and start living it now!

6. Find your purpose, your mission

What do you excel in and/or feel you are here to do? Just do it and find time for it now. It is important for your happiness because it's a great joy to be able to do what we are good at and to help others too.

7. Have reminders

To remind myself to be happy, as a safeguard, I got a tattoo that says "Just be, right here, right now, happy to be". You can also use written tips everywhere in your house or at work, such as a computer password that reminds you to be so.

Don't Let Your Past Dictate Your Future!

Hello Everyone!

Your future is 100 percent in your control! Many people think the future just happens to them or its just luck. Well it doesn't work that way. A major determinate of your success and happiness is the learned behaviors of your past and how they shape your future.

"Whether you think that you can or that that you can't, you are usually right" -Henry Ford

Your past experiences will have a major influence on your emotional reactions, perceptions, and reactions to present events. Your past experiences change the way you look at everything. If you have had positive results in the past in a certain area, you will see yourself achieving positive results in the future. Past failures, anger and resentment can cause you to not take risks, to doubt your abilities and to prevent you from challenging yourself in new areas. The events of your past will have a significant effect on how you see your life now and what you choose to believe about your world. You react to opportunities, success and failure based on what you have learned in life. You don't see the world as it really is; you see through the eyes of your past experience. The problem with this is often our perception of the past experience is wrong or it will hold us back from trying again in the future.

Whenever you are presented with an opportunity, you will have a thought reaction to it. Often, that thought is based on something that has happened to you in the past. When presented with a similar situation later on, your natural impulse is to regard it in a similar way. This can cause you to miss an opportunity or prevent you from believing in yourself. You fail to move forward in your life because you feel you will repeat the past. To prevent this thought process from stopping your growth, you need to replace your negative limiting thoughts with positive possibility thoughts.

5 Ways to Change Your Thinking

1. Change your reaction by changing your thoughts. Make a promise to look at the positive in each opportunity.

2. See your strengths. Focus on your strengths and believe in your ability to succeed.

3. Eliminate negative self-talk and negative self-image. Pledge to no longer think and talk negatively about yourself.

4. The past was your training ground. Begin to view your past as practice. All athletes fail in practice hundreds of times so they can get it right on game day. Your past setbacks are actually making you stronger and more prepared for your future.

5. Visualize your success. Writing down your goals, ideas and dreams begins to program your subconscious brain to achieve success. Think about being a success and you will walk and talk consistent with that belief.

The Future of Computational Chip - Human Brain Interfaces Considered

The other day someone contacted me from overseas, doing research on human brain, specifically computer interfaces. The Professor of Neurobiology was doing a research paper and indicated to me that; "it is possible for a computer/human interface device in the future." Now then, yes, well, I would agree with what he is saying actually, lots of future implications in all of this.

It appears to me that tapping into the neural network and adding in a computational chip to convert brain signals to ones and zeros is feasible for thought-swapping. And of course, add-on memory such as a PhD in physics, mathematics, and engineering on a chip and connected to the Internet allowing a human being to appear to be all-knowing like IBMs Watson. The applications are endless, not only for controlling cars, aircraft, equipment, wheel chairs, appliances, computers, but for human interaction "Arthur C Clarke 3001 'space cap' style" as well.

One thing that should be considered is the challenges with the future of "brain hacking" and mind control, although humans these days seem to be pretty good at that without this technology today. Nano-tech and Moore's Law will assist in creating nodes and motes which will find locations to lodge themselves to read and interpret and interface, even deliver nutrients and weed out bio-threats to the brain which have slipped by the blood brain barrier.

There is so much science in all of this from so many different places all converging as we speak. So, I told my acquaintance that; "I have so many thoughts on all of this, I hardly know where to begin our dialogs. But perhaps, you'd like to lead off on a specific topic and we can dance around that subject and come up with something brilliant for your thesis, something that could be a future breakthrough in this niche of scientific endeavor?"

Just to give you an idea of how fast all this is moving forward; there was an interesting article in the science news recently where a researcher at Cal Tech had created a device, a neural network made from DNA, the article appeared in SpaceDaily, and referred to a paper that just appeared in Nature. The SpaceDaily article was titled; "Caltech Researchers Create the First Artificial Neural Network Out of DNA," by Staff Writers in Pasadena, CA (SPX) and appeared on Jul 27, 2011. You really should go look up that article if this topic interests you.

The article stated; "This is a major step toward creating artificial intelligence-not in a robot or a silicon chip, but in a test tube. Although brainlike behaviors within artificial biochemical systems have been hypothesized for decades, they appeared to be very difficult to realize." And, yet, they are almost there, at least proving concept that is. It is only a matter of time now.

Now then, back the point I was making, this is another of many incremental steps forward, pushing the bounds of possibility. That future is coming, and that's what I'd like you to please consider and think on.
