App Maker Guideline: Is Mobile Application Development Worthwhile for Your Business?

Mobile app development has become quite the talk of the town in the last few years. And businesses that aim to remain competitive in the market should consider becoming an app maker, one who creates a mobile application that perfectly fits their clients' needs. But is it worthwhile to go through this path? With careful planning and sufficient knowledge, it would be worth it. To ensure it is worth your while, keep in mind these important reminders when making an iPhone app or other mobile application:

Before anything else, assess what type of app you want to develop, which should be in accordance with your business goals and your clients' requirements. Unfortunately, many are rushing to create an app only to realize in the end that their prospects and customers don't need or want it.

Next, decide on the kind/s of mobile platform/s you want to use. The iOs (iPhone/iPod/iPad) is undoubtedly the most popular platform, but you might also want to check out other options like Android, BlackBerry, Symbian, Windows and others. To figure out which mobile operating system or platform to use, you need to perform an intensive market research on the type of smartphones/devices your target audience uses.

Note also that there are two primary reasons or motivations for developing an app: one, to generate direct income; two, to help with marketing agendas. However, many businesses are jumping into the bandwagon just because every company is doing it--and without even thinking how a mobile app can benefit their organization or their customers. An iPhone app or any other mobile application can provide value if it offers convenience and versatility of doing business with your clients. For example, an app for order placement while on the fly, etc.

As you may have already imagined, developing an application is not an easy breezy endeavor. And while mobile app development requires a lot of time, effort and resources, all your hardships would be worthwhile once you succeed. For a fool-proof mobile app development, you can always consult a professional app maker to help you create an efficient app best suited for your business.

Business Is Not About Being Liked By Everyone

You have a big dream in your heart to get your message out to many people, and are terrified of the exposure, so you keep yourself a well-hidden secret, all the while knowing you could do more. This is a far too common situation for sensitive and spiritually-minded people, for many reasons, not the least of which is the fact that the fear of being exposed and even burned (literally and figuratively) lives in our DNA as powerful women!

The problem with this is that the world needs you. The world needs what you have to offer, whether it is your nutritional counseling, your polarity therapy, your ability to create order out of chaos-whatever your particular gift is. Somebody will be helped by you and you alone.

It is really important to get this in your bones: NOT EVERYONE WILL LIKE YOU OR WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY OR OFFER. This is particularly true if you begin to become more visible and successful. You will be projected upon. People will accuse you of being ambitious or greedy or any one of a number of things. They will throw their unfinished business onto you, and your job is not to let it stick!!!!

As women, this can be a very huge challenge, and facing into this fear of rejection is one of the most important and empowering things you can do if you want to create a prosperous business doing what you are meant to do.

Let's face it. Feeling connected is THE most important thing in the lives of most women. If someone doesn't like what we have said or a product or service, it can momentarily feel to the primitive part of our brain that our survival is threatened. It is not, but here are some ways you can remain connected to yourself and your truth, no matter what anyone says or does:

1. Get in the habit of using the following as a mantra: "What you think of me is none of my business!"

The spiritual teacher, Byron Katie says that there are two kinds of business: your business and God's business. Anything else is not yours! In other words, sometimes you just need to have healthy boundaries and put up a fence!

2. Every day, spend a few minutes getting clear about your main motivation for your day, and be sure that it is based on LOVE. This is different from setting goals, which is important. This is about the true purpose of your day. You could say it is about setting your INTENTION for the day.

For example, if your goal is to engage in profit-making activities, what is motivating you to do that? Is it to grow your business and forward your message (service) or is it because you are feeling afraid of not having enough (fear). Be honest. If you can see that you are coming from fear, there are many ways to press the reset button on your day, to shift from fear to love.

If you do this, and you are rejected or in some way find yourself on the receiving end of someone's wrath, you can check with yourself to examine your true motivation, and find that the momentary "ouch" disappears quickly.

3. Use a power tool for clearing during the day. What I mean by power tool is something like EFT (emotional freedom technique), ho'oponopono (an ancient Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness) or simply prayer-something that keeps you clear of all the countless energies that come at you during your day. This way you will keep your energy grounded and positive so that the slings and arrows of life will not penetrate too deeply.

Being a grownup is hard enough. Being in business for yourself requires another level of maturity and respons-ability that is worth the effort. After all, if God is your boss, your want to do the best job you can!!!

A Recession Proof Business Plan

Ever since I was a little kid I have always spent my time brainstorming and experimenting with different business ideas. The first actual business I tried was when I was around 7 years old. My sister Jackie and I tried to sell seashells on Pensacola Beach. At our little seashell stand we also attempted to sell some homemade root beer that my dad made but if I remember correctly it tasted horrible. When I was 10 years old I started making fake pencils that had steel bars inside instead of lead. These pencils were the ultimate pencil fighting tools. They looked like real pencils but were almost impossible to break. As I got older I started experimenting with eBay buying anything I could that would make a profit.

eBay was great when it first came out. eBayers could actually make a profit since the fees didn't eat it all away. There was a market for anything back then; even a market for used underwear. To get the most money per pair all you had to do was say that the underwear's previous owner was a high school wrestler. Sometimes a pair of these used underwear would sell for as much as $55.00. You could go to wal-mart, buy a package of new underwear, make them look dirty and then sell them as used (unethical I know). I will probably get made fun of for this but seriously it was easy money and supported my surf trips to Cocoa Beach when school was out. There were several other small side business that I ran since then. None of them were ever sufficient enough to replace my real job but they did bring in a steady positive cash flow to support my monthly entertainment. Now I'm back to brainstorming different business ideas, but with all the economic uncertainty I am not willing to take the risk to invest my hard earned money into something that will probably fail. I need to find a business that requires no initial capital investment, one that is risk-free, and most importantly (pause) recession proof! Anyway, after hours of creative thinking I think I came up with the perfect plan and I will let you all in on it because competition is not a factor.

The first thing I would need to do is find a way to get laid...off from my current job. I can't start a new business if all my time is devoted to working. After I am laid off I will file for unemployment. Unemployment pays about $1200 a month in Florida and the government doesn't cut people off after six months anymore, it can last for nearly two years with all the emergency extensions. Maybe that is why unemployment is so high, just a thought but what do I know. Anyway, two years is plenty of time to relax and build up other sources of income like...financial aid. Since I'm not busy trying to work or produce anything I will have time to go to school. I'll probably get approved for a lot of financial aid since I won't be trying to make money. I gotta make sure I report as little income as possible to the IRS, this way I will get approved for more government aid, and hey, come tax season I will get a tax refund that is even more than what I paid.

I'll consider this my bonus. I can get all sorts of grants including the pell grant which pays like $2500 a semester. I can also get approved for subsidized student loans that I won't ever pay back. It isn't like I'll be making enough money to make a true effort to pay them back. Yeah I'll have a degree and all but since the government is paying for everyone's education now, a degree might not be worth much. I mean everyone is going to have one. Since I have so much time on my hands there will still be opportunity to make even more money. Maybe I could start trying to make as many babies as I can so that I get food stamps along with whatever other financial aid the government might give me. Babies are a great risk-free investment and all I have to do is have a bunch of sex to acquire them. What commodity other than babies involve sleeping around? NONE! I hope the government will pay for daycare though because I sure don't want to have to actually take care of the little rascals. Did I miss any other new projects that this business could pursue? Of course I did, but I think I made my point.

App Maker Quick Tips When Developing a Mobile App for Business

The expansion and market size of smartphone users is undeniable. As more and more people today are relying on iPhones and other smartphones, majority of businesses are turning to mobile apps as an effective way for clients to connect with their company. And while creating a concept for your mobile application can be fun and exciting, the creation process is where the actual challenge lies--most especially if you're not tech-savvy. For your guidance, here are some app maker quick tips you should keep in mind when developing a mobile app for your business:

Make it easy to use, free or inexpensive to buy, functional and engaging that users will not have enough of using it and keep coming back for more.
Users absolutely loathe slow apps. So don't pack it up with features or functionalities that might just make it slow to use and too complex to understand.
Make it easily recognizable by making your app consistent with your branding (logo, color schemes, slogan, etc.) This also helps in strengthening your brand and promotes customer loyalty.
Never release it until you're satisfied and happy with it. Like any product, launching an app with glitches and bugs will result to frustrated customers. And this may generate negative feedback, discouraging others from downloading it.
Keep it fun and efficient to use so users would want to share it with their friends on their social networking accounts.
Avoid imitating what's already there, unless you have something innovative to add on that existing app. There's already so much competition out there that you certainly don't want to become 'just another app'.

Everyone has a wonderful app concept designed to drive their business forward at some point--whether to improve productivity, provide more information to clients, etc. Consider these pointers above when you're looking at developing an iPhone app/mobile app for your business.

Top 5 iPad Finance Apps for Business

The past two years have been a whirlwind in mobile computing and people are embracing these new devices, like the iPad, at breakneck speeds. Apple's Fourth Quarter revenues jumped 21 percent from a year ago, including the sale of over 11 million iPads. It's clear that the huge advances in mobile devices are not only changing how we live our personal lives but also how we do business. For business, especially small business, some of the biggest advantages are coming from the app world. If you want to make your business finances a breeze, check out these apps:

1. Square: Credit card transactions have never been easier. The developers of this free app will send you an actual credit card reader that plugs into your iPad. It's secure, easy, mobile, and even has built in analytics to track sales, collect tips and tax, and send electronic receipts via email or text. There is no need to delay the payment process anymore. Oh, and they only charge a 2.75% transaction fee: no contracts, fees, or merchant accounts necessary.

2. Expensify has the traveling business world in an uproar. The features of this app are impressive at the least: sync banking information to track purchases in real time, digitize receipts to reduce the chance of losing them (just snap a picture and the app will discern and note the necessary info), customize and email reports for approval, and be reimbursed to your checking account. You'll be your accountant's best friend with the organization and ease provided by this app.

3. Time Master + Billing: With a 4 star rating in the app store, this app sets the bar for time and expense tracking. The overall best feature is flexibility to be customized to fit how you work - rounding minutes, multiple running timers, billing rates, expenses, client project/tasks, and so many more options. There are even additional modules available to include invoicing, QuickBooks export, and wireless sync between mobile devices.

4. Intuit GoPayment Credit Card Terminal: Similar to Square but a little bit more involved. It's also a free app, but you have to jump through a few more hoops (AKA a 15 minute application process) to be approved to use this service. However, if you're looking for a proven brand name, this may be for you.

5. QuickBooks Connect: This is a great supplement to your QuickBooks Online subscription (QuickBooks 2011 users you'll have to get a paid subscription to use this app past 30 days). Manage customer information and balances; create invoices and sales receipts; convert estimates to invoices; email estimates, invoices, and sales receipts and more with this handy app.

Mobile computing can make all the difference in the efficiency of your business. Look for the bottlenecks in your financial administration and ask yourself, is there an app for that?

President Obama Says the Republicans Want Business With No Rules - That's a False Charge

The other day, I was listening to one of President Obama's stump speeches as he jet set around the country in Air Force One soliciting campaign contributions for his 2012 run against the Republicans that have the higher approval ratings. President Obama said something very interesting when it came to over-regulation, and the cries from the business community.

He said that; "Republicans want business with no rules!" That is simply false, that is not true, and all of the small businesses, and the corporate executives that I know, and I know quite a few, just want a fair shake, and they are;

Tired of the duplication of rules and regulations at every level of government
Tired of the double jeopardy of lawsuits from private sector and government
Tired of Consumer Extortion
Tired of Competing with Foreign Firms that Don't Follow the Rules
Tired of Crony Capitalism, Unbalanced Playing Fields, and Government Picking the Winners

It is really unfortunate that we have a President of the United States who has never run a business, and perhaps never even run a lemonade stand for all I know. You can go into any small business in your town, talk to the owner, and verify what I've said here in this article. You can ask them to see all of their licenses, permits, and registrations. Most small businesses have no less than 20 pieces of paper showing that they are legitimately allowed to run their type of business on that premises.

Many folks that have never run a business don't understand, they think running a business is easy and all you have to do is get a business license. But that's not really true, you need all sorts of other licenses, and you have to pay all kinds of fees, taxes, and the harassment, well, it really never stops. Further, on any given week you might be visited by several regulators from various agencies at the city, county, state, and federal level.

In fact, it's amazing the amount of micromanagement the government does, and all the enforcement that goes on. The federal government is perhaps the most arrogant of all, because they believe their rules trump every other jurisdiction, and they act as they have the power to shut you down on the spot. The way the legal system works in this country, they actually do. Still, we are a nation that believes in capitalism and free enterprise, including the right to free contract. It is amazing how the federal government has infiltrated its way into every single transaction that we do.

If we truly want jobs back in America, we are going to have to lighten the load on our small business community with regards to all the regulations. Since President Obama has been in office the regulations have increased, not decreased. And Congress, the regulatory agencies, and even the president himself through executive orders have done nothing more than stifle free enterprise and commerce. Excuse me for saying so, but that's just totally unacceptable.

It additionally, the arrogance of President Obama to make such a statement and to label the Republicans as wanting to allow businesses to run with no rules whatsoever is absolute poppycock and utter hokum. Of course, it makes sense that a socialist leaning president would use such a populist message, and class warfare categorization to promote his own personal agenda and political career. But as I said; it's simply unacceptable. Please consider all this and think on it.

How to Feed the Soul of Your Business

If you really want a soul-inspired business, you must make time for inspiration a priority in your life. It can be gardening or riding a motorcycle, but you must make those things that feed your body/mind/soul a constant priority.

This all has to do with your bigger WHY. You must feel and feed the WHY, the DREAM, or what I call the SOUL of your business. That means you must take really good care of yourself.
Not doing that is the #1 pitfall to new (and some not so new) business owners. They become consumed by all the countless tasks and problems that are a normal part of running a business, and the focus and clarity about their purpose begins to wane.

When this happens, it is feedback that something needs to turn around. The normal cycle of feeling bad that you are not "on top" of things makes you drive even harder, and get more frantic. Based on the Law of Attraction, there is no way you can attain what you really want that way, unless you really want STRUGGLE.

Ask yourself, "Am I addicted to struggle?" Be honest. And be kind. We all learned many unhelpful ways to be in the world. Sometimes we all feel as if it is an uphill climb!

Being able to step back and look at what is working and what is not is an essential act of self-love if you want to make progress. Interestingly enough, the Latin root of the word progress is "proficere," which means to profit. And that is the purpose of your business.

Your Assignment:

1. Ask yourself where you are struggling, and write it down. See if there are now or have been other situations in which you had a similar struggle. Look for the pattern. This helps you own it more fully, for one thing.

2. What is the feedback telling you? If you are in conflict, it is telling you that you are divided. If you are low on energy, it is telling you that you are empty. If you are angry, it is telling you that you need to set a boundary. If you are afraid, it is telling you that you have disconnected from Source. In fact, all of it is telling you that you perceive yourself to be disconnected from Source.

3. Commit to one thing that you know will bring you back to that connection. Write it down and set the time for it. Invite LOVE back into your life. Making that decision already sets the new course for you.

When you run your own business, how you show up in your life is reflected in your business, and vice versa. It is better to hold off on making any more business decisions, if you can, until you are reconnected to the Soul of your business, which means to yourself and your bigger WHY.

Mobile Microsoft Business Intelligence

Those leveraging the expansive power of Microsoft's business intelligence solutions may have noticed that while other major business intelligence providers like Oracle, SAP, and IBM have launched applications to take their services into the mobile sphere, Microsoft has yet to make an official release. Oracle has released Business Intelligence Mobile for iOS devices, SAP launched Business Objects Mobile last year, and IBM has Cognos Mobile for BlackBerry and iOS devices. If you're waiting on an official Microsoft release, there's both good news and bad news.

The bad news is that it doesn't appear Microsoft is planning on releasing a cross-platform mobile BI application anytime soon. The good news, though, is that this doesn't mean you can't experience dynamic, real-time Microsoft business intelligence solutions from your mobile device.

Microsoft has an expansive network of official partners, and the technology juggernaut is currently content to allow their multitude of partners to develop these in-demand applications. Applications like RoamBI, PushBI, and the upcoming Fetch! are just a few of the applications that will feature cross-platform integration, and there are plenty more applications available for Windows Phone 7 devices.

RoamBI's free version integrates with Microsoft Excel, CSV, and HTML to allow users to create custom mobile dashboards, but also offers a premium version. RoamBI Pro is spendy, with a $99 yearly license fee, but for small groups within a business setting, the average monthly investment of $8.25 is a small spend for integration with Excel, CSV, HTML, Google Docs, and Salesforce. RoamBI also has an enterprise version (RoamBI ES3) that integrates with all of the previously-mentioned technologies, plus SAP Crystal Reports, SAP BusinessObjects, IBM Cognos, Microsoft Reporting Services, and Liferay Portal, though pricing on that is on a per-buyer basis and requires you to contact the creators. It's currently supported on iOS devices as well as BlackBerry devices, but remains quiet on whether or not they will be launching an Android version. It's just speculation here, but given the high demands and persistent requests on their forums, it's difficult to imagine such a successful application developer completely ignoring this market share by not developing something for the Android OS.

PushBI is another example of a cross-platform application that integrates with most major BI platforms (Microsoft, SAP, Oracle), and unlike RoamBI it currently features an Android version. PushBI has led to some mixed reviews from the limited amount of users who have taken the time to write them up, but keep in mind that this is a free application, so it's not necessarily fair to line it up against a premium paid product like RoamBI.

The upcoming release of Fetch! is another application to watch for. It's currently in the works, and if you contact the makers you can receive a free trial. It promises compatibility with Windows Phone, Android, and iOS devices, and boasts integration with SharePoint, PerformancePoint, SQL Azure, SQL Server, Salesforce, Oracle, and more.

The lack of an official Microsoft mobile business intelligence release is an unfortunate reality for the time being, but Microsoft users shouldn't panic or consider switching away from its top-notch BI services. Take a look at some of Microsoft's partners and the mobile efforts they're pursuing. There are plenty of powerful solutions out there that can fit your needs without requiring a drastic switch.

Exporting Problems: Lessons From Central Banks, Big Business and Governments

Some valuable lessons can be learned from how Central Banks, Big Business and Governments shift their problems to the people of the world that can little afford them. In the US, the banking system was doing all kinds of shady deals that literally placed the world financial system on the verge of collapse. They came to the US government for bailouts with promises that it would solve the problems and restore things, but what they failed to say was "restore things for whom."

The US government bailouts of over $1 Trillion were difficult for most people to comprehend the amount and the need for US citizens to become a lender to such corrupt organizations. However, after the first ever audit of the private corporation known as the US Central Bank, or more simply the Federal Reserve Bank we have now learned that $16 Trillion were used in secret bailouts. As U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders said "This is a clear case of socialism for the rich and rugged you're-on-your-own individualism for everyone else."

The net result is the private corporation, Federal Reserve Bank has exported its debt and bad behavior to the people of the world! Many people around the world lost their homes, life savings, good credit and other things including their self-respect, and the banks have lost nothing. In fact those banks have acquired assets for pennies on the dollar!

The British Petroleum (BP) Oil Disaster & The Obama Administration

After the private company, British Petroleum (BP) released 170 million gallons of crude and two million gallons of toxic dispersants into the Gulf of Mexico, creating an environmental catastrophe they worked with the Obama Administration to perform a CYA.

Obama appointed Kenneth Feinberg to head the Gulf Coast Claims Facility (GCCF) fund. Obama approved him because of his prior work shielding private corporations and the federal government from lawsuits. Feinberg earlier in his career had protected chemical giants Dow and Monsanto from the litigation of Vietnam veterans sickened by the defoliant Agent Orange. Also A.H. Robins, the pharmaceutical corporation from women maimed by the Dalkon Shield contraceptive device in the 1970s. More recently the Bush administration from lawsuits over the 9/11 terrorist attacks that might have lifted the lid on government secrets.

Immediately after Obama and British Petroleum (BP) established the fund and named Feinberg as "pay czar." Feinberg launched a high-publicity media campaign advising victims that they would be "crazy" to sue. "Under this program, you will receive, if you're eligible, compensation without having to go to court for years, without the uncertainty of going to court, since I'll be much more generous than any court will be," Feinberg said in July 2010.

Feinberg reports that about 300,000 of 800,000 claimants have received some compensation. Of the "$20 billion" GCCF fund, so far he has paid out a mere $3.8 billion. Feinberg claims that he has already "processed" nearly 80 percent of all claims.According to Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood, the GCCF has paid only 3 percent of business claims and 9 percent of individual claims. According to several media accounts, claimants have received roughly 10 percent of what they requested. Those who accept money from the fund agree to waive in perpetuity the right to sue BP for further damages.

Additionally, Mr. Feinberg, representing the GCCF has reportedly forwarded several claims to the US Department of Justice for mail fraud investigation. One individual has been imprisoned for attempting to defraud BP. Not any Transocean or BP executive has faced criminal investigation, or received jail time. Of course, Mr. Feinberg as a government employee is immune to litigation for promises he made and or his actions.

Proposed Keystone XL Pipeline

Officials at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) state it will require years of massive clean-up efforts before work in the Kalamazoo River watershed is completed. The environmental damage from a pipeline spill by a Canadian pipeline company a year ago, was 3.2 million liters of thick tar sands crude spilled into a Michigan river. This heavy tar sands crude is heavier than water and contains more heavy metals, thus it is harder to clean up.

The Canadian "Prime Minister Stephen Harper" government and promoters Shell, Valero, ConocoPhillips, Canadian Natural Resources Limited and Cenovus Energy are lobbying the Obama administration to approve the tar sands oil pipeline known as Keystone XL.

The proposed $7 billion Keystone XL pipeline would carry 700,000 to 800,000 barrels of tarry, unrefined oil every day from the Alberta tar sands 1500 miles through the US heartland to refineries in Oklahoma and Texas. Spills from pipelines are not rare.

"The tar sands are huge in terms of their impact on the environment but also on Canadian democracy. Oil is starting to run the country now," said independent Canadian researcher Michelle Mech. "Average emissions for oil sands production and upgrading (well-to- pump) are estimated to be 3.2 to 4.5 times as carbon intensive as conventional crude produced in North America," concluded Mech's report, "A Comprehensive Guide to the Alberta Oil Sands".

The promoters of Keystone XL claim that it will reduce US reliance on oil imports from unfriendly countries. This is the same argument put forth by politicians every time they do something their handlers demand but the public rejects.

Oil demand is falling in the US thus according to environmental activists in the US and Canada the Keystone XL pipeline may simply allow tar sands oil currently landlocked in Alberta, Canada to be exported to Europe.

Canada was criticized by other nations at a major U.N. climate meeting recently after being caught underreporting carbon emissions from its tar sands oil production facilities, one of the country's biggest and fastest growing sources of global warming gases. Obama and Harper say they are worried about climate change, but neither the US nor Canada has cut emissions.

It does not matter if you believe in "Global Warming" or you think "Global Warming" is a hoax. What matters is to extract this "dirty oil" as it is known, and process it will generate an estimated 150 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions every year. That is more CO2 than the annual emissions of 85 percent of the world's countries. Norway, an oil-rich country emits a mere 50 million tons annually. Plus, let's not forget there are risks of pipeline spills in the US heartland.

The US State Department scheduled a second round of public hearings along the pipeline six- state route in September. Even if you are not a citizen of the US, you should voice your opinion on this because it will affect you, your children, your health and your financial future as governments collect "carbon taxes" from everyone.

Do you really need more taxation? Do we need to have 150 million tons of additional CO2 released into our air every year?Do we need another environmental disaster or have we had enough?

There's No Standing Still in Business!

Have you ever felt stuck or comfortable with where you are? I know there are times when you just want the world to stand still - just make it stop for a short while, so you can catch your breath and then carry on. Me, too. But not very often!

"Build this day on a foundation of pleasant thoughts. Never fret at any imperfections that you fear may impede your progress. Remind yourself, as often as necessary, that you are a creature of God and have the power to achieve any dream by lifting up your thoughts. You can fly when you decide that you can. Never consider yourself defeated again. Let the vision in your heart be in your life's blueprint. Smile!"

~ Og Mandino

One of the absolute best quotes I have heard, over the past 3 years, is 'It's all about progress, not perfection!" That quote was so freeing! It gave me permission to get going - get moving - get things done - get unstuck.

I am very proud of my successes over the past few years. I know that 'time is money'; however, I also know that time's a passin'! I'm not 35 years old anymore - I must hold the clear vision of what I want my life and my business to look like - stay focused - and take action. That is how I managed to take my business from zero to multiple 6-figures in this relatively short period of time.

Here's how I did it - and you can, too! I focused on creating a profitable business -

P - stands for purpose, passion, practical and profit. These are all important elements as you start up, and grow, a business.

R - stands for 'reason' - every morning when I get up, I remind myself about the 'why' of my business - the reason I am doing what I am doing. My 'reason' is to work with women entrepreneurs around the world to help them achieve financial freedom. Then they can create the business and the life of their dreams - they can be independent. (That was key for me after my divorce!).

O - stands for optimism. I have had some hard times over the past number of years. I have had financial, emotional, physical and mental challenges. It was essential that I stayed optimistic about my future - it would have been so very easy to just give up - to live with excuses as to 'why it was not possible' to achieve my dream. I set the intention to remain optimistic - no matter who and no matter what.

F - stands for family and friends! I have the best girlfriends in the world. And I have an 88-year old mother who believes in me, who supports me (emotionally) and who cheers me on - even though she really doesn't have an understanding of what I do, LOL! We are the average of the 5 people we spend time with - who is in your circle?

I - stands for initiative and investment - I take the initiative when it comes to growing my business - and I make significant investments in myself and in my business - those are all my responsibility and I take them seriously. Do you? No one else is going to do the work that it takes to help me attract clients, create products and services, make sales calls to grow my business - it's up to me! I intend to continue on this journey and create wealthy women leaders around the world.

T - stands for team - as I grow my business each and every year, it takes a team to support my dream and my work. I cannot do this alone - I must focus on my talent - and hire great people to be around me to keep it all humming.

YOU ARE IN BUSINESS TO CREATE PROFIT

When you make a decision to take your business seriously, to make some serious money and to create a significant profit - that's when you can transform lives and help to change the world.

'Making money' and closing the sale are not 'dirty words'. They are a lifeline and a life-saver to many people who are struggling and you (and I) hold the key.

This is a month of celebration for me. It is a milestone in my life as I turn 60 - and celebrate the successful and inspiring woman that I have become. I intend to continue for many years yet - I have a lot of work to do - there are many wealthy women leaders waiting to evolve and I know I am just one woman who can help to make that happen!

Learning The Importance Of Customer Focus In The Business World

The really neat thing about Into to Business is that the course encompasses a multitude of business-related subjects. That is because the professor would like for the student to explore the most essential elements of business foundation. These various components are essential because they can either make or break a business. One of the core subjects that might be taught in the class is customer focus.

Students taking the course may learn that in the free enterprise system, the customer is king. Those who cater to customer needs usually have a successful business. Those who do not can fail. Consequently, customer focus is key to maintaining success and growing a business. The following customer focus strategies may be reviewed in your Intro to Business course. They can help a future business owner devise a strategy plan for his or her business.

Keep in touch with the needs of the customer. The best way to do this is by asking. Find ways to touch base with a broad spectrum of customers to get a balanced view. This can be done by conducting prior and post purchase surveys. Be ready for the good news and the bad news. Vocal customers will usually complain more than compliment. Listen and respond to legitimate criticisms.

Put yourself in the customer's shoes. It is a good idea to look at things from the customer's point of view. Think about what you would expect if you were your own customer. What price would you be willing to pay for quality service or a product? What would be the top things you would complain about? As a customer, would you expect a call back when promised? These are the questions that the business owner should be able to answer in a positive way in relation to his or her company.

Make a point to design and arrange whatever you do from the viewpoint of your customer first. A big mistake would be to design and arrange what you do from your viewpoint. Remember, you are not the customer, so everything should be designed with the customer's needs in mind. Follow this rule, and the business will have a good chance to thrive.

Think of yourself as a satisfied customer. Write down all of the satisfactory things that have happened to you as a customer - good value, prompt service, courtesy, and follow-up phone calls. Compare them to our own business. Are your customers experiencing this same satisfaction? Rate successful customer transactions and then use them as a model for all to follow.

Play detective. Check out the work flow and processes at high customer venues, like airports, restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, and government services. Observe customer service process and determine if they can be duplicated at your place of business.

These are but a few customer service remedies that may be reviewed in business college courses. As you can see, it is a valuable topic for those entering into the business world as a company owner or high level manager. Before enrolling in the class, try to get a copy of the course syllabus to see if customer focus is one of the topics covered. All big universities usually have more than one instructor who teaches the intro class.

Happiness and The Fringe Benefits of Friendly Business

Have you ever met a small business owner who ran their business in an angry way? They seemed Machiavellian when it came to bossing their employees around, and they were always trying to do harsh negotiations with their vendors. That's not a very friendly way to do business, but over time they probably reasoned to themselves that they can watch their costs, and run their business in an autocratic way, maximizing their profits.

The reality is the business world doesn't always work like that, and to run your business that way you could be shooting yourself in the foot. This doesn't mean you should allow your vendors to cheat you, or under deliver on their promises, nor does it mean that you should allow employees to text message their friends while at the cash register, or let their friends get free products when you're not around. In that case in a way the vendors or employees are stealing from you, and that's unacceptable.

Now then, there are fringe benefits to running a happy and friendly business. There is a thing called tough love, and that might be a better way to run a business, drawing lines in the sand with company policy, but also allowing the employees a little latitude, and the vendors a little give as long as they are holding up their end of the bargain, and performing as promised. Before retirement, I ran a franchising company, and in the franchise operations manuals I made a note of this. In fact, I had whole chapters on vendor relations, employee relations, and community business relations.

Why you ask? Because it is amazing the number of referrals you can get from your employees, your vendors, and other businesses in the community. That is if you treat them with the respect they've earned and deserve, and you get to know them on a friendly basis. I'm not saying that you have to go over to their home for a barbecue on the Fourth of July, friend them on Facebook, or give them free tickets to the ballgame; although you might.

Rather, I am suggesting to you that you should act friendly in your business dealings, not purposely boss people around for no reason, and always consider how you'd feel if you were in their shoes and they weren't yours. Be happy. There are so many fringe benefits to running your business in a friendly fashion, that it would be difficult to write it all down in one small article. Therefore, you are going to have to trust my advice because it comes from three decades of observation, and lots of experience. I surely hope you will please consider all this and think on it.

The Marketing Analysis Component Of An Intro To Business Course

The Introduction to Business course is a good course to have under your belt. It does not matter what your field of study. Business is linked to every profession and career. The introductory course can cover a multitude of subjects - everything a budding entrepreneur needs to know to start, manage, and build a business. One of the essential elements for a successful business is learning how to design and implement astute marketing strategies.

Introduction to Business will typically cover standard marketing applications like conducting a marketing analysis. Marketing analysis can be used for a variety of reasons, including determining the best courses of action to take to improve sales and profitability of an existing company or to evaluate whether or not there is a viable and commercial interest for a particular product or service. Typically, the class requires students to create one using real data and information.

In Intro to Business, students can learn how to design a market analysis. They will discover that the key to a successful analysis is the inclusion of pertinent information that can be analyzed and used to implement new ways to grow a business, which usually includes a customer profile. A customer profile helps with navigating a company's sales effort.

The profile should include characteristics in the demographic profile of a target market. If the profile is geared toward soliciting information from individuals, the profile might require the subject to answer questions like age, gender, profession, education level, and household income level. However, if the profile target is made up of corporate customers, they may be asked to convey information such as number of employees, annual revenue, products and services rendered, and years in operation.

The psychographic profile is an important component of the customer profile. This type of profile refers to understanding how perceptions and expectations influence a person's decision-making process. By revealing personal traits, the surveyor may give insight into his or her spending behavior. This profile can be designed to extract information from individual or corporate customers.

Individual surveyor's who complete the psychographic profile might choose from lists that asks which best describes them. Sample categories may include conservative, liberal, fun-loving, cutting-edge, or a trend follower. Other psychographic questions could ask about entertainment likes, publication subscriptions, or hobbies. Categories for the corporate psychographic profile might entail market leadership, environment-friendly, or innovative and cutting-edge.

The behaviorist checklist rounds out the customer profile. This checklist identifies the motivation and reasons why a customer purchases a particular product and service. This is the section of the market analysis where the surveyor can answer questions that rank particular questions. For example, the survey may read, "How important is customer service when purchasing a product?" Then, the surveyor would respond by selecting a ranked number (one to 10, or a range of responses like, "strongly disagree to strongly agree").

Marketing analysis can be fun to create, and you will find effective ways to use it in your career. However, the Introduction to Business course covers much more than learning practical and applicable marketing strategies. Other essential components can help you attain professional success. Consequently, taking the class can add value to any college degree you choose to pursue.

Learning About Business Law Is Beneficial For Anyone Who Is Starting A Company

business ceoThere are those who believe that business education goes hand-in-hand with any college degree. There is logic to that assertion. It is wise that every person has some basic knowledge of business, as it is a necessary component regardless of a person's field of study. An Introduction to Business class touches on several areas of business that would benefit all careers, including business law.

If you are planning to be self-employed, partner with, or operate your own business, it is good to have some knowledge of business law because it focuses on laws that apply to such entities, like partnerships and corporations. There are many factors that go into running your own business. Business law provides insight into which direction may be best for your entrepreneurial aspirations.

Many people wish to have their own business; however, it is no small feat. Business law can answer some of the most basic questions, which could impact your decision of whether you want to own a company: What type of business should I set up? What is the easiest type to set up? When are business owners personally liable for debts? How can I protect myself from liability?

Business law also delves into the financial aspect of the field. This can include understanding the importance creating an effective business plan. Typically, an Intro to Business course teaches students how to draft a business plan so that they can have a thorough understanding of its significance. Other finance learning can include financing a business using bank loans or investment capital and utilizing other capital resources like an equity loans.

Business law explores the four general ways to organize a business. One way to form one is by sole proprietorship. A sole proprietor is inseparable from its owner. Consequently, the business and the owner are one in the same. This is considered the easiest and economical type to set up. But on the down side, the owner is fully responsible for the company, with no form of limited liability.

Another way to organize a business is to create a partnership. This is where two or more people start something together. Partnerships do not have to be set up as a formal corporation, which makes them easy to establish, much like that of the sole proprietorship. However, it is highly recommended that a written partnership agreement be drafted and signed by all parties involved.

A corporation is the opposite of sole proprietor. A corporation is a separate legal entity from its owners. Corporations can be run by a single shareholder or by many shareholders. Its man advantage is that the owner is protected in the form of limited liability, which exonerates him or her from personal losses, debts, and obligations of the business itself.

Business law covers a multitude of interesting facts and applicable factors concerning the successful operation of a business. A student who incorporates business studies into his or her degree program will be exposed to in-depth knowledge concerning legal aspects and how to apply them to future commercial aspirations or even personal goals. Whatever the case, you will probably find a use for this valuable information.
