VoIP Phone VS Analogue Phone - Which One to Prefer?

Better and quick communication is a hallmark of the modern globalized world. Hence, due to every hour changing technologies, we are able to communicate with our fellows and friends at any corner of the world. VoIP and Analogue phones are among the main communication tools that are extensively utilized. Due to the greater deficiencies of circuit switching system, there is always problem with the voice transmission system, so it is not a preferred system in today's developed world for better and quality voice communications.

Comparatively, the VoIP system works with an IP network that uses data pack switching system which is comparatively efficient and ensures quality communication. Moreover, unlike the analogue one, the VoIP phones are able to share the networks with any connection simultaneously. So, it can receive more than one call on the network at the same time, which is a bit difficult with an old analogue system. Hence, due to the greater efficiency, VoIP suits consumer and corporate market alike.

They are not only very inexpensive but free in many cases as compared to other options. A very good example of this is Skype, which offers a great option of free calls to anyone who is on Skype. However, always bear in mind that VoIP phones work only when you have electricity at your home, but when there is sort of blackout, you may not be able to use VoIP option. Hence, you should make your choice after taking a calculated analysis of your needs, requirements, budget and social life.

EReader Vs Tablet PC - Which Should You Buy?

It's a hotly-debated point at the moment, being brought up by the selling power of gadgets like the Kindle and the iPad. Should you buy an eReader, or go for a tablet PC? Which one is worth spending your money on?

What will you mainly be using it for?

To start off with, let's make one thing clear. An eReader is just what it says it is - it's for reading electronic books. It may have some other capabilities, depending on the manufacturer, like note-taking, dictionary look-ups, an MP3 player, and sometimes a very basic web browser. But at the end of the day it only has one purpose: to read electronic books.

On the other side, we have the tablet PC, which is designed to be a very portable computer. It can connect to the internet, send and receive emails, watch movies, listen to music, play plenty of games, and use thousands of apps (applications) which can allow you to do much more.

So when you're trying to decide between an eReader vs. tablet PC, you need to remember that they have different markets. The eReader is made for bookworms - people who read a great deal and love to read. On the other hand, the tablet isn't as comfy to read with, using its more computer-like display screen - but it can perform a lot more functions, and display color illustrations.

In the war of the eReader vs tablet PC, the eReader certainly beats the tablet PC on price. eReaders are much much less expensive than the vast majority of tablets. OK, you can get a tablet for the price of an eReader - but it will be a low-end option which runs a lot more slowly and has less impressive features overall. You certainly won't get anything alike to the iPad for anything less than $500, which is a big wad of cash if you're not really sure whether you need one!

On the other hand, an eReader can easily be found for under $100 even for the best models. They are very simple to use and the battery can last for weeks (as opposed to 10 hours on a tablet.) This simplicity and battery life is down to the fact that they only have one functions.

Perhaps in the end it revolves around one simple question: "How much do you like reading, and how much are you planning to do?" I you are a real hardcore bookworm, and you're planning to read every day, then you should definitely consider an eReader - the reading experience is far superior than using a tablet screen.

Bicycle Helmets Which Change Color - Not a Bad Innovation At All

Currently, there is a brilliant grad student from MIT who has been designing Reactive Sportswear, which changes colors with your emotion, your body perspiration, and the heat coming from one's body. The US military loves this reactive material, and is using it for the latest camouflage concepts. In fact, there are also interesting new materials, which can be worn that change colors when they are in the midst of a certain type of gas. For instance if methane, CO2, or a poisonous gas used in chemical or biological warfare is present, all of a sudden the clothing changes color.

Okay so, this is a revolutionary new technology, but I wonder if we can use some of the transfer technologies which go along with all this innovation for something very simple. Consider if you will all the bicycle accidents that happen in our larger cities. In the last couple of years there have been a tremendous number of accidents on the road, some believe this increase is due to the fact that more and more people are text messaging, and looking down at their tablet computers, or smart phones.

Most cyclists have LED flashing lights which they turn on in the day or night. What if we went one step further? What if a bicycle helmet, or bicycling outfits changed color in the presence of CO2? Thus, every time a car passed them, the CO2 around them would be at a slightly higher level causing their helmet to change color, and also their jersey and pants. In this case the changes would catch the attention and eyes of the drivers on the road, and therefore they would be less likely to accidentally run them over because they may have been distracted by their personal tech devices.

Why does this concern me you ask? Well as a long-distance cycle or, I often go on long road trips. In the past I've ridden from Oregon to Mexico along the coast, and am considering a cross-country ride. The only thing of course that bothers me is getting hit by a car, and not living to tell about it. Cars and bicycles often don't mix. I doubt if anyone really wants to run-over a bicyclist, although there probably are some sickos out there, but it's very easy to not be paying attention while driving a motor vehicle, and clipping a cyclist on or near the road's shoulder.

Obviously, when a car hits a bicycle we already know who's going to win in that game, the cyclist doesn't have a chance. Now then, for the bicycle helmet this may be much easier than you think. A small coating over the plastic colored shell could be incorporated into the bicycle helmet, and therefore the bicycle helmet could change color.

You may not be aware of this or not, but there is a gal who started a multimillion dollar business with handbags and purses where the covers are convertible, that is to say you only need one purse for all your outfits, because you can attach a different fabric or exterior snap on design depending on what suits your fancy and goes with your outfit.

In taking this concept to the next level, along with the MIT grad student's Reactive Sportswear, it seems like a natural to have color changing cycling gear. There have been studies in the past by billboard companies, and the Department of Transportation which showed that motorists were five times more likely to see a billboard or traffic sign if it changed colors, had movement, or had flashing or blinking lights.

We know that there are many pieces of equipment used for bicycling safety with LED lights, and reflective clothing which alerts motorists. Nevertheless, you could still have reflective clothing which changed colors; perhaps from a florescent green to a florescent yellow to a bright red. This is easy to imagine, and I am sure you will agree that it would catch your attention, and it might cause you to give the bicyclist more space, as well as prevent you from using personal tech devices which might distract your attention while you're driving by, or passing a cyclist.

How much would something like this costs you ask? In my calculations, it appears that it wouldn't add more than about $20 to the price of a helmet, and if they were mass-produced the clothing would cost about $10-$15 more if only the design changed and not the entire outfit. If the entire outfit were to change, that might cost a little bit more, and would be more for the long-distance serious cyclist in that case. Some might say that the extra cost is not worth it, but I ask how much is your life worth?

Could these types of materials also be incorporated into the frame of the bicycle itself? Well, I too had asked myself that question, and perhaps it could be done with reflective decaling along the major portions of the bike frame. This wouldn't add very much weight, and it should be sufficient, best of all it wouldn't cost that much. It would also provide more safety when riding across an intersection and a car was perpendicular to the cyclist. Those types of crashes cause very grave injuries, and often result in extremely serious injuries and sometimes death.

When a-cars sideswipes a cyclist, generally they have a few broken bones, and they end up on the side of the road pretty well mangled, but at least live to tell about it. Now then, is there a market for this new innovative concept in the cycling world? Yes, from what I know about participating in this hobby and sport, indeed there is a market. In fact, I believe that these cycling safety items are not only sellable but would be much appreciated by the cycling community. Of course, the first someone has to invent it, build it, market it, and sell it.

If you'd like to use this idea, I give you my permission, and I am willing to try out your new device once you develop it, and test the prototype for you, although I am pretty sure just about any cyclist would. In fact, I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.

Which Is Best for Success - Big or Small Goals?

Recently, I read Napoleon Hill's The Law of Success. In his section on creating a definite chief aim, he asserts that it is best for your chief aim, or goal, to be as big and grand as possible. Since this assertion, more than half a century of study, learning, and conclusion have revealed much more about human psychology than anyone in Hill's day could even fathom. The ancient Chinese also had a saying alluding to goals, "It is better to aim for the stars and hit a bird than it is to aim for bird and hit a rock."

So, it seems throughout time, men who have achieved big have dreamed big all along. But again, we are in an age of access to an overwhelming amount of technology and information. While 100 years ago people commonly dealt with thousands of dollars and dreamed of millions, talk of trillions and beyond are now common numbers in our society. All of this begs this question stated in the title. Which is truly better for you to achieve success? A common saying of our time is, "Go big, or go home." So really, do people benefit from desiring things far beyond their comprehension, or is it better to progress through a series of small goals?

1. Your Dreams Must Be Big and Believable
From all of my observation of success (and I have observed a lot), it is best to make as big of goals as you can comprehend. This is very important. All humans have wild imaginations, some more so than others, but you must make goals that are accessible to you. For example, as of writing this, I have a goal to make a take home, monthly income of $40,000.00. Now, this does me far more good as a goal because I have known people and the kind of lifestyle associated with that amount of money. Furthermore, because it is a big goal, but conceivable, my brain immediately creates smaller sub-goals to reach the final destination.

2. Your Dreams Should Not Make You Feel Overwhelmed
If I create a goal of making $35 million a year, I have no idea where to begin. Logically it would seem that I should just repeat the same steps at an exponential rate to my original goal, but this number is beyond my comprehension. Unfortunately, when it comes to big goals, they must be felt to be achieved. I can't produce any feelings associated with making that much money in my current state of life, so that goal would be pointless. Instead of creating sub-goals, my brain becomes overwhelmed quickly to the point of inactivity. We have all had some goal or dream that seems so big we hesitate to even start it, and often times, do not.

In conclusion, what is the answer to the question in the title? The answer is both. Find goals that do not overwhelm you to the point of inactivity, but rather inspire you while providing progressive steps of attainment. If you follow this principle, you can accomplish virtually anything. Remember the words of success guru Bob Proctor, "Your dreams should be just big enough that they scare you a little bit."

Which airports have body-scanning technology? - CNN International

 More than 60 airports are using body-scanning machines to screen passengers.TSA: There are 385 scanning machines at 68 airports nationwide
About 24 million travelers are expected to fly over the Thanksgiving holiday
Many will bypass scanning, and the vast majority unlikely to be patted down
(CNN) -- Many Americans planning holiday travel have expressed concern -- even outrage -- over the the Transportation Security Administration's use of full-body scanning and enhanced pat-downs, but a large number of fliers are likely to bypass both screening procedures.
There are 385 full-body scanning machines at 68 airports nationwide, according to the TSA.
About 24 million air travelers are expected to fly over the Thanksgiving holiday period, according to the Air Transport Association of America, an airline trade group.
The group expects daily passenger volumes to range from 1.3 million to 2.5 million fliers. Certainly, some number of those will be asked to step into one of the full-body scanning machines. The rest will go through the metal detector lines as usual.
Passengers in either line may be selected for additional screening, including the enhanced pat-down procedure that allows security officers of the same sex to touch sensitive areas of a passenger's body. Fliers who decline the optional full-body scan will receive alternative screening, including a thorough pat-down, according to the TSA.
"It's important to remember that TSA screens nearly 2 million passengers daily and that very few passengers are required to receive a pat-down," according to a post on the TSA Blog.
The body-scanning machines use two separate means of creating images of passengers -- backscatter X-ray technology and millimeter-wave technology. About 190 backscatter machines have been installed in airports; the remainder are millimeter-wave machines.
The TSA website lists all the airports using advanced-imaging technology to screen passengers. The website does not specifiy which type of machine is used in each airport.
