Not Having a Mobile Website Is NOT an Option

"Not having a mobile website is NOT an options", says "urmobile" a leader in mobile site creations.

Ways your company could and should capitalize on mobile advertising-

First as a business owner you should connect and engage your consumers. Mobile advertising can increase brand identity. Sell a lifestyle, not only a service and great products and you can go far.

In my previous articles I spoke about how JcPenney takes the lead by getting the proper use of mobile advertising.

Just some of the ways that JcPenney is leading the way in mobile marketing is by creating a talkable brand resulting in a trusted community.

Jcp.com enables the phone to have a store locator feature which includes phone numbers and directions, ideal call to action buttons and landing pages, and one of my favorite the Opt-in Mobile Marketing feature allowing the sharing couponing.

JcPenney flexes their muscles again by introducing mobile commerce engaging the customers with and thru innovation strategies. Strategically making it easy for the consumer to navigate through the mobile site. Not to mention that they make it a brisk for the use of gift cards.

Ad placement allows you to easily view deals for each store location including catalog. Visibility it even more unique with video display of the product so you can have the touch and feel aspect.

Last but not least the ability to manage your transactions with ease such as tracking your order and self help forums Jcp.com has really flexed its muscles well enough that the Associated Press is teaming up with GateHouse Media creating a new innovative way to produce the news thru mobile offerings such as iCircular.

Short True Story: I was pumping gas recently and I noticed that there was a big warning sign "Do Not Use Cell Phones", while pumping gas. The ironic part was that on the other side of the warning was a QR code encouraging the use of your mobile device. In the event,of course, you might need to file a complaint about your fuel. I am not suggesting that one would blow up if they did in fact use their phone to scan the QR code but then again what if you did blow up? Mobile Advertising shall have some thought behind it.

The best way for a company to capitalize on the mobile marketing is get out the most marketing tools you can.

Make Sure Your Website Is Made for Mobile

Think back to browsing the Internet 5 years ago, and most people picture a desktop or laptop computer. As Bob Dylan said, "the times they are a-changin'," and this is no longer the case. It is now true that more and more people are relying on their cell phones and other mobile devices as an auxiliary browser and in some cases as their main Internet connection source. For a business website, this means change needs to happen, and now is the time.

There are numerous considerations when it comes to a business website. One of the most vital concerns relates to the functionality of the website. It is vital that a business' website is able to be viewed on multiple browsers and platforms, including those browsers on mobile devices. With so many people using mobile devices to browse the internet, it is crucial that a business' website be viewable from them. There are many advantages that having a mobile site can offer, including increased sales, GPS capability, and customer retention.

If a business is in the market of direct sales (think grocery stores, super centers or specialty stores), it is necessary to have a working mobile site. Many times consumers will check prices of other retailers using their mobile device. If a customer is torn between two retailers, and cannot view one's site on his or her cell phone, he or she will probably choose the one with the more accessible mobile site.

One huge advantage of mobile sites is their GPS capabilities. Say, for example, that a person is in the general vicinity of an auto repair shop and searches for such in Google. Any auto repair shop in the area with a mobile site will appear first, making it that much more likely that the person will decide to go there. Not choosing to design a website in this way means that particular business will probably miss out on a customer.

Another niche that is in danger of being lost if a business doesn't have a mobile site is those who travel. Many business people and leisure travelers don't bring their laptops with them, thus solely relying on their cell phones. A website that could be a favorite of theirs that doesn't cater to mobile devices isn't going to be a favorite for long.

Ensuring that a website is able to be viewed on a mobile device is a relatively simple process. The amount of additional people that a website will reach by doing so is beyond worth the time put into making the transition.
