Studying Abroad Is A Viable Option For Most College Students

Students who are thinking about studying abroad in college must make some decisions when it comes to fitting this valuable experience into their degree programs. After all, many students have tight schedules when it comes to completing college, but that doesn't mean they want to give up on a meaningful study abroad experience. Looking into your options when it comes to the length of your study abroad program can help you decide whether you can fit this experience in.

In some cases, students want to experience a full immersion in the culture of their host country. These students may opt to spend an entire academic year living and learning in a country of their choice. While studying abroad, students will have an experience similar to that of a college student native to that host country. They will attend classes at a local college or university and have the opportunity both to acquire the local language and to truly get to know the surrounding area.

Studying abroad for an entire year is an educational and life-changing experience for students who opt to make this long-term commitment. Of course, this choice is not right for everyone. Students who study abroad for a year should be prepared for transitional periods that will occur when relocating to the host country as we;; as when returning to the United States at the year's close. This intense experience is rewarding but may be too long of a period for some students to spend away from family and friends.

For many students, spending a semester abroad is just right. A semester can go by quickly, but it will also provide ample time to explore your host country, improve your language skills, and meet many interesting people. You will live and learn at a local college or university in a slightly less intensive way.

A semester abroad is usually the most common choice for college students looking to get this experience. A semester abroad does come with big changes, and students must allow themselves time to adapt to the culture and language of their host country. This experience is often more manageable for students than an entire year abroad.

For some students, a semester may not be possible. It could be that you can't allow yourself the time to complete a more leisurely semester abroad, especially if finances are an issue or if you have specific goals that must be met in a timely manner. Chances are, however, that you have time for a summer study abroad program.

A summer program allows students to earn some college credits and also have a fun and educational experience during the summer. These programs vary in length from a few weeks to the whole summer. If you otherwise can't manage to study abroad during your academic year, a summer abroad program may be the ideal solution.

Studying abroad is an experience that every college student should have, if possible. Of course, everyone has different college-related goals and plans, but if a study abroad experience is something that interests you, you should be able to find a program length that fits your needs. Keep in mind that summer opportunities abroad are very manageable.

Not Having a Mobile Website Is NOT an Option

"Not having a mobile website is NOT an options", says "urmobile" a leader in mobile site creations.

Ways your company could and should capitalize on mobile advertising-

First as a business owner you should connect and engage your consumers. Mobile advertising can increase brand identity. Sell a lifestyle, not only a service and great products and you can go far.

In my previous articles I spoke about how JcPenney takes the lead by getting the proper use of mobile advertising.

Just some of the ways that JcPenney is leading the way in mobile marketing is by creating a talkable brand resulting in a trusted community.

Jcp.com enables the phone to have a store locator feature which includes phone numbers and directions, ideal call to action buttons and landing pages, and one of my favorite the Opt-in Mobile Marketing feature allowing the sharing couponing.

JcPenney flexes their muscles again by introducing mobile commerce engaging the customers with and thru innovation strategies. Strategically making it easy for the consumer to navigate through the mobile site. Not to mention that they make it a brisk for the use of gift cards.

Ad placement allows you to easily view deals for each store location including catalog. Visibility it even more unique with video display of the product so you can have the touch and feel aspect.

Last but not least the ability to manage your transactions with ease such as tracking your order and self help forums Jcp.com has really flexed its muscles well enough that the Associated Press is teaming up with GateHouse Media creating a new innovative way to produce the news thru mobile offerings such as iCircular.

Short True Story: I was pumping gas recently and I noticed that there was a big warning sign "Do Not Use Cell Phones", while pumping gas. The ironic part was that on the other side of the warning was a QR code encouraging the use of your mobile device. In the event,of course, you might need to file a complaint about your fuel. I am not suggesting that one would blow up if they did in fact use their phone to scan the QR code but then again what if you did blow up? Mobile Advertising shall have some thought behind it.

The best way for a company to capitalize on the mobile marketing is get out the most marketing tools you can.

Time to Wake Up - Is It Really an Option?

"Truth is fierce and unrelenting. Making mistakes, not being loved, and dying are inescapable experiences of being human; so is our fear of them. By facing those fears we have a chance to step beyond them. When we are willing to do the best we can with what we know, to be honest with ourselves and others about who we are and what really matters to us, only then are our lives we live and the love we receive truly our own." From "Hannah's Gift" by Maria Housden

Corruption in high places is nothing new. We have recently had exposure of the excessive expenses of EU Bureaucrats, almost 7 million. Most of us yawn and mumble something about rich fat cats and corruption, then get on with life the best way we can. And so nothing seems to change as far as being governed by rich power hungry politicians who are backed by the seriously wealthy multinational corporations and industrial conglomerates.

Anyone who has undertaken any serious research and who is no longer on a high spiritual plateau zonked out with incense, candles and mystic chants will see how necessary it is for humans to awaken en-masse. Sadly this is unlikely to happen unless a mega catastrophe happens somewhere. Then within 9 days mass loss of life and destruction will no longer hit the headlines and we will be once again gossiping about the latest celebrity scandal or some other mind numbing story.

I once overheard a Quaker member reconcile the Iraq war by saying "This has served to awaken millions of people worldwide." Did it?

Doubtless many of you reading this today have already done your research on the global situation and discovered that Conspiracy "Theories" are less theory and more fact, sickening facts at that. Many of you may have already travelled the highs and lows of spiritual discovery and landed right back where you started and wondered "What was that all about?"

Regardless of how dramatic, exciting or traumatising your own awakening was or will be, you will rarely find that the world you left prior to your introduction and guided tour of our multidimensional universe, has changed much. But you have.

I have recently met some deeply spiritually aware and street wise individuals who have yet to find "their place" and who end up cleaning toilets, because they cannot find a credible non-corrupt way to earn a living on this planet. Even those who claim to be "seekers" and attend meditation retreats or mindfulness seminars merely want a quick fix to lift them from the spiritual desert they may have been inhabiting but seldom do they really want to challenge and change the status quo. If it means going through some discomfort, forget it.

"It may be an illusion but it is my illusion and I do not want you to disturb me."

Walking through most middle-size towns in the UK one cannot fail to observe the "walking dead." Look into most people's eyes and what will be looking back at you will not be the soul-fired light of inspiration and enthusiasm but the befuddled and confused look of someone walking in a half awakened coma.

That's why I keep the opening paragraph to hand to remind me of what truly matters. That and chocolate ice-cream.

"In spiritual life there is no room for compromise. Awakening is not negotiable, we cannot bargain to hold on to things that please us whilst relinquishing things that do not matter to us. A lukewarm yearning for awakening is not enough to sustain us through difficulties involved in letting go. It is important to understand that anything that can be lost was never truly ours; anything we deeply cling to only imprisons us." Jack Kornfield
